We had a fantastic Christmas dinner at Cenote. The pâté was amazing, and the homemade bread was the perfect match. We loved the new decorations – the place looked beautiful! I ordered the blackened dorado, and it was seriously the best fish I've ever had. Just the right amount of spice. My wife got the tuna tartare, and I had to try it – the sesame flavor was so goid. We finished with the chocolate cake, which tasted just like something you'd get at a fancy French bakery.
We've also had dinner there a few times, and everything we've tried has been delicious. They have a great menu with both Filipino and international dishes. The staff at Cenote are all so friendly and welcoming. The owner, Didier, is super helpful and gave us some great tips on things to do around the island. Cenote is easily one of the best restaurants in Camiguin. Thanks to the whole team for making our stay so...
Read moreGood location and service. The quality and taste of the food are not to are liking though. We ordered chicken schnitzel, sizzling pork, shrimp bisque soup, and leche flan. The schnitzel was okay but it lacked taste - maybe a gravy would be a good addition to the dryness of the chicken.
The sizzling pork has a flavor to it, but the meat was too chewy and not tender enough.
The shrimp bisque soup tasted like a boiled shrimp head, but without any other flavor to it.
The leche flan was not sweet at all, but in a bad way. We were hoping the dessert could save it all, but we were really disappointed :( especially for the price.
It’s really hard to find good food in the island, but we’re really happy with the service of...

It was bland and a very soupy sauce. I should have ordered the tacos I guess. I8Seafood just down the street was much better. Follow up after owners response: I've been in the Philippines for 8 months and this is the very first time I have been sick. It is not the water. While you may be a "city slicker" with a sensitive constitution, that's not me. As I pointed out, you have regulars so you must be doing something right. I just got unlucky with a meal that had a sanitation issue. It happens. I stand by my assessment. Being honest about my experience is...
