I booked for 4 pax (with 1 5 yo and 1 9 yo kids). When I checked in, I thought the breakfast was complimentary to my booking, and the kids were free. only to find out, it was not. I paid an extra 400 per pax per day(1,600 in total)The front lobby staff (* I think and *) said it's hotel policy whether or not kids will eat or not, I needed to pay 400 each per day. Guys, it's mandatory. Bring extra cash. BTW, I was talking to ** because i felt ** didn't get my point about the breakfast. Then i realized that after ** said its their policy, she just left me, and another girl assisted me. Way to go for a manager. Tbh, I let it go, i just paid because it's useless and because my kid was there seeing me arguing ( guests won't win)..THEIR POLICY. The rationale they gave was that they couldn't control or monitor their day tour guests if they had eaten breakfast. Then, u need to look for ways to solve it. Not to burden the in-house guest. The accommodation is pricey enough, then you breakfast whether they or not. For me, i can accept 400 per pax for adults, but for 5 yo to 12, it's too much.( FyI. 2 yrs and below are free of charge. 3 yo and up, 400 each)I traveled with kids and 1 senior, we had luggage and bags, yet no one cared to assist even the crews saw us carrying out bags. The room we had was big but the lights were warm. So, I needed to use flashlights to look at our things. Warm lights are mounted at the wall only. At times, I brought my bag in the bathroom because it was brighter there. Also, my senior citizen companion did not stay in our room because she said it's a bit creepy. Their wifi is not working. "Connected,no internet." Or can't connect the wifi on the smart TV. My friend said that camayan has discounts for in house guest at Ocean Adventure, and I was about to book at klook that time. To verify, I asked the crew while we were at the pool, and the crew said was "I don't know." Haha, really? Because the staff doesn't know the services they offering? Aren't all aware of it?to my disappointment and too lazy to go to the front desk because of what happened upon check-in, I just booked at klook. THEN, when we checked out, I asked about the promo. True enough, they do have.Likewise, I asked the staff again that I booked for 4 pax, but the towels we had at our room were only 2. So I asked her if she could assist me in bringing 2 towels later. (Because we were at the pool, lookingout for my kids). Guess what the staff said.. " Someone will go to your room and ask if u need anything." Shocks, I'm telling my concern, and at least I expect her to say or recognize my concern and refer it to concerned staff if it's not her task to do it. But what she did after telling me that was, she just walked away. Duh! What a service. I did my best to ignore their service (it sucks) because i was advised by my friends to enjoy our stay becuase its my baby's bday. So I looked at the brighter side, my kids were enjoying the pool and the beach.Good side of the Camayan, staff at the Reef restaurant were friendly and accommodating, and the food we ordered was good (though a bit expensive). Pesto was nice. But what I observed at the reef and even I asked the staff because I paid 400 per pax per kid, that in their standee, it says kids and senior =350 per pax.So I clarified, then the crew said, "That's for day tour guest only." But no day tour guest indicated in the signage. Guess in house guest pays more than day tour guests. Again, the pool and the beach are nice. Kids wanted to go back there, but next time, it would be a...

I believe in the power of feedback and have written hundreds of online reviews in various places; I hope you find my review helpful.
I found this place based on its TripAdvisor ranking. Although I have used TripAdvisor successfully for 20+ years, the ranking on this property appears to have been artificially raised through a marketing promotion as they have a TripAdvisor “award” on their profile and were ranked #1 by travelers despite having a traveler’s average star rating lower than many other properties.
Location. The location is the best part in terms of clear water, great view, clean beach that was not overcrowded. Note: This property is 30 minutes from the city so there is nothing close. Even the closest convenience store was at least 15 minutes. But if you’re looking for privacy, clean water, and a great view, this is it. There were a lot of larger rocks on the seabed so some kind of “swim-shoes” are advisable.
The Room: Dated, old, seemingly from another era. Mold in the bathroom including rusty nails protruding from the bathroom walls. The AC was cold and the bed was okay. The inter est was horrible and lost service several times, as in, no signal at all. The best part of the room besides the cold AC was that it opened up to the pool area.
The Beach: Crystal clear water with nice sand and tons of privacy. We were the only people on the beach several time. There are lots of large rocks after entering the water, so some kind of “swim-shoes” are needed. Great view and little to no waves made this the best part of this property.
The Pool: Clean and well maintained with a partial view of the beach. Very shaded.
The Breakfast: The breakfast was a major disappointment. They said depending on occupancy, they had either buffet or a la carte. We are there during an a la carte period. The main 2 choices were a western breakfast or a Filipino breakfast. There were a couple other choices but they were one-offs like an omelette by itself (no toast) or pancakes with bacon. There was no options to trade off or upgrade. I wanted the Westerm breakfast but instead of scrambled eggs, I wanted the omelette. I was told no. Really the only difference was in a few pieces of toast. 🤦🏻♂️ The “grilled” tomato offered on the western breakfast was a single slice of cold un grilled tomato. The “fresh fruit slices” was canned fruit cocktail in some kind of a sweet mayonnaise or condensed milk combination . The corned beef offered on the western breakfast was not western corned beef but rather the Filipino version which is sweetened with sugar and runny-loose. Yuck. The “cumber” juice offered by the coffee was sickingly sweet. Even after cutting it with half water, it was too sweet. The coffee was black as tar and there was no milk or sweetener other than sugar or brown sugar. I was able to get them to bring me some sucrolose.
Tony at check-in was very friendly and hospitable. He was a pleasure to deal with.
The young bartender in training was very friendly and also engaging.
I witnessed a member of the kitchen staff use the restroom and not wash his hands. I alerted the supervisor who was very apologetic and thanked me for bringing it to her attention.
Overall, this tired, outdated and sad property needs a lot of attention, updating and a relook at their service standards and offerings. I would Never Come back here and their 1st place ranking on...
Read moreNot a True Resort Experience||I write reviews to help other travelers make informed decisions, and after many years of relying on online platforms, I feel it’s important to share what I experienced here.||I chose this property based on its high ranking on TA. However, I now suspect that its top-rated status may have been influenced more by promotional tactics than by genuine traveler feedback. Despite being labeled as the #1 resort, its average guest rating is notably lower than several other nearby options.||Location:||The beachfront location is easily the highlight. The water is clear, the view is stunning, and the beach is quiet and clean—often with hardly anyone else around. That said, the area is remote. You’re about 30 minutes from the nearest town, and even the closest convenience store is a good 15-minute drive away. If seclusion, peaceful surroundings, and beautiful water are your priorities, this place delivers. Do bring water shoes, though—the seabed is quite rocky.||The Room:||Outdated and worn. The decor feels decades old, and the bathroom had visible mold and even rusty nails sticking out of the walls—truly unacceptable. The air conditioning worked well, and the bed was passable. Internet was unreliable, often cutting out entirely. The one positive? Direct pool access from the room.||The Beach:||Absolutely the best part of the property. Calm, clear water with soft sand and plenty of privacy. Again, swim shoes are essential due to large rocks in the shallows.||The Pool:||Clean and shaded with partial beach views. A pleasant space, though not exceptional.||The Breakfast:||A serious letdown. Breakfast is either buffet or à la carte, depending on how full the resort is. We had the à la carte option. The choices were minimal and rigid—no substitutions or modifications allowed. For example, I requested an omelette instead of scrambled eggs with the Western breakfast, and was told no, even though the items were essentially the same. The “grilled” tomato was cold and raw, and the “fresh fruit” was canned fruit cocktail drenched in sweetened cream. The corned beef was the Filipino style—sweet, watery, and not what most Westerners would expect. The cucumber juice was so sugary I couldn’t drink it, even diluted. Coffee was extremely bitter with no milk or creamer available—only sugar or brown sugar. I was able to get a sucralose packet after asking.||Staff:||Tony at check-in was outstanding—warm, helpful, and professional. A young bartender-in-training was also enthusiastic and friendly. On the downside, I observed a kitchen staff member use the restroom without washing his hands. I reported it to a supervisor who handled it seriously and professionally.||Final Thoughts:||This property feels more like a budget motel on a nice beach than a true resort. It’s badly in need of renovation and an upgrade in service and food quality. The TA ranking is misleading at best. I would not return, nor would I recommend this property to others in its current state.||⸻||Would you like a shorter or more positive-toned version as well for posting on platforms like...
