A sad example of missmanagement and total lack of care for the guests This place has everything going for it: location, beach and grounds. However, it is completly sabotaged by the owner's lack of customer care, unprofessional management and unvillingness to invest anything in maintenance and repairs. As a result, they are left with guest rooms that have appliances and interiors in need of replacement and repairs. The rooms smells strongly of mold, and large cockroaces were often seen in my apartment. There is no wifi in the rooms. The sliding doors to the balcony were too heavy for my girlfriend to open and close even attempts to repair. Wood infested with insects, leaving piles of dust on the floor. All pillows were flat and black from mold. Frequent LOUD karaoke on weekends seemed quite out of place in a place like this.

I rented a smaller apartment to store my personal belongings while back in Europe in the summer. When i came back, my boxes has been moved next to an exterior wall and 4 boxes with its contents were full of termites, destroying the boxes and contents. The owner was completly unconcerned and never suggested a compensation nor did she say sorry. I did not pursue it.

I dealt with this during my one year stay without complaing about all of it, only the sliding door, broken TV and wood infestation were pointed out to the owner. Her immediate response was that she could not handle this and suggested i should move out if not happy. I was quite shocked of her response, but this is typical of how she deals with issues......by not dealing with it. I promptly moved out from Squares.

This is the forst time i write a negative review on anyone. However, the experiences i had at Squares made me ferl it was my duty to...

The rooms and the place was really nice. It was a lovely stay since they had their own beach right at the front of the property. There's also a pool to dip in which we really enjoyed and also it is always good that you can buy food from the local market and cook it at the location. There's a grill if you need one and there's a huge space to chill sit and relax to the sound of the waves crashing into the shore. Airconditioned rooms of course and here there are foreigners on extended stay. A few things that could be improved would be: videoke well apparently this is up until 10 pm only with an 800 php price tag so better sing early. It does get a bit crowded especially on a saturday but the day after we were the only guests apparently ergo during that night the pool's filters were shut off but you can still swim but again, no filter. Plus we I was still outside with my family still drinking but then a couple of employees shut down the lights but it was all good maybe it was to conserve electricity. By the way kudos to the lifeguard that stayed late with us. You did your job well. Location from the white beach is a bit far. There are trikes outside that can take you there at a fare cost of 300 for 4 people one way at night though this goes up to 350. Anywhere near like the local market though is just 30 php. The complimentary breakfast well, let's just say you can't complain because it's technically free lol. Overall it was a good experience the pool was one of the really nice things about the place aside from...

Located in Puerto Galera, about 5-10 minutes from Muelle Port in the opposite direction of White Beach. This private resort showcases a Greek style facade with a garden in front of a brown sand beach.

The place is accessible via tricycles coming from the port though the rates vary from 60-80 pesos depending on the driver. Upon entering the premises, visitors will see murals and a pool table which has to be rented to be used.

The rooms we got didn't have all the posted items for the kitchen. The rice cookers (3x) were either partially or completely broken. We ordered water and we had to bring them up to the second floor on our own. The airconditioner would be about just 0.5 hp which is not enough for the whole unit we had especially since the windows had to be forced open or closed.

The grounds were kept clean and the staff were all easy to talk to and very friendly. They even had dogs roaming at night and both were friendly. The white dog was named Whitey while the brown one, Brownie.

Don't expect to get any strong signal here. All the networks had intermittent problems at any given time of the day. The resort has WIFI but they don't have any repeater to accommodate the whole resort, thus making the guests go to the front desk to connect.

Overall, the rating that this place has (8.2) is too high. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless they really want to disconnect from the world and live a...

Rented a room here for about a year or so, firstly you would go from the road to the apartments by going on a dirt road. It's fine with me but it's just inconvenient when it's raining because it's very slippery on mud especially when riding a motorbike. The rooms itself was pretty ok la. Basic with kitchen amenities that was good because most hotels/apartments don't have a kitchen. The water pressure is very very low so don't expect to have great showers staying here. Also the Wi-Fi that they offer is super slow I can't even bring up websites on there Wi-Fi and I've tested the speed and the download speed is below 1mbps. The beach is clean sometimes but sometimes it's a bit slimy. For food there place is supposed to be called "squares apraments and cafe" but there isn't really a cafe. From memory there was food only a few days and that's it. It isn't like a proper cafe. If your staying in squares and you want food you would have to go to the next door neighbor (badladz) where they serve food as it is a restaurant there. There is no reception at the squares apartments so it's very difficult to check in if your a person staying there. There are two owners, from memory tone of them is OK but don't expect one of them to be very friendly as one of them is quite abrupt.

their room is very neat and clean especially the bathroom which is usually a problem for many other people, but their bathroom was properly washed and clean upon our arrival. the room also is spacious and neat, has beautiful interior wallpaper and the house is a bit fancy and a bit homelike. this would be a very nice boarding house if it was in Manila hehe. as for their beach, well the beach is always naturally beautiful however it seems people throw their garbage in the water so the wave is always pushing dirt back to the shore which makes the sand at the beach always appear dirty. there are plastic, bottles, and biscuit peeling left littering. the price is also very affordable considering how decent and neat their house is. there's a swimming pool accessible to all guest, and there's no other fee to pay once you've already paid your full booking fee.
