Welcomed with that legendary Filipino hospitality all throughout my stay, I would highly rate Microtel by Wyndham Pampanga 5 out of 5 stars. It was a blissful 3 day staycation with them and treated as if a distant relative by their staff. Assistance began soon as I arrived and parked.
Checking In: It was a breeze. We are welcomed by their Front Office team with Ms. Minorka at the helm. It was a blessing knowing their team and how lovely they treat each and every guest as I keenly observe (me coming from hospitality industry too). Instructions were given clearly and concisely and I truly love that they provide us options to make us feel empowered too.
Sleep: The location is noteworthy. Located inside the business park, it is peaceful and quiet still. For two nights, I have a blissful sleep. NOting also is their premium king size bed that certainly had a good back support - two days of waking up without back pain.
Meal Service: I like it how the customized my breakfast meal experience. From the choice of meal set, the time of service and location where to dine, Ms. Minorka delivered that personalized service. The first morning, I woke up late beyond the expected time of breakfast and she called me for follow up. I was moved by this keen attention.
Others: The pool area is my favorite lounge area at night. I liked it how it transformed to a romantic spot thanks to the magical lights that flood the area with warm and inviting illumination. The fresh air too was soothing for a stressed city dweller like me.
Check Out: This is the epitome of every staycation where I have to severe that relaxing service, however, the checking out process leaves a refreshing note of staycation. Until I left the premises, the total attention they provided extended the thoughts...
Read moreMy stay at Microtel was a mixed bag. I will say for San Fernando it is probably the nicest hotel around. The rooms are acceptable quality exactly what you expect from a Microtel product, though the price is a little high for what you get compared to other cities nearby.... it seems microtel used their global pricing model and forgot this gotels location should affect its pricing. The hotel also lost my reservation but thankfully after providing a lot of documentation was able to find me a room. However, there was a basketball tournament going on so the hotel was very busy and VERY loud which made for a less than satisfactory experience. Compounding this issue, they placed me in a room directly across the hallway from the basketball tournaments meeting & dining room which was not pleasant due to all the noise and made for a restless stay. You would think they would put one of the organizers of the tournament in my room given its proximity to their venue and me on a higher floor away from the tournaments commotion but unfortunately that was not the case. I recommend that you avoid rooms on the ground floor due to the noise in the lobby and the conference rooms that share the same hallway with hotel rooms. I wanted to like microtel and perhaps would have liked it better if I had a room on a higher floor or if the basketball tournament was not occuring during my stay but unfortunately I cannot give my full endorsement given the loss of reservation and restless stay due to all the noise. I will be back in San Fernando in November and will give microtel one more chance and report back on that experience should my...
Read moreMicrotel locations has always been its greatest value and in San Fernando Pampanga, it is within reach to other commercial establishments by minutes. The room has the basics needed although some toiletries are intended to be requested in the lobby and not all displayed inside the bathroom. During my shower, it took 15 minutes for the water to get warm and hot, and I was near to complain about it. But my other companions found it to get warm in less than 3 minutes. This might ve the case as I was the first person to use the shower during the stay. There is no restaurant, no kitchen to prepare any kind of food for the guests. But luckily, a string of restaurants are outside and right across the hotel and the staff also are offering to buy them for you at a rate of 600 pesos. For convenience purposes, that would be just right as we went there and there was a storm. But it would be cheaper if you dine on the spot as not all meals are 600php. Internet is readily available & accessible once you are in the hotel, and there is no password needed to access it. The staff just lack the urgency to help out guests in times needed. Like when it was raining for they didnt offer to havr me borrow an umbrella upto the parking. Or when we needed a trolley to carry our luggages and things, and it took so long that we just decided to carry all by ourselves.
I like the bed the most as it is very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Overall, it is worth coming back to check in if we'll be in San Fernando next time. Thank you very much Microtel San...
