It was my first time to be in Sipalay I honestly am not aware of what to expect other than my love mentioned that it is a hidden paradise. Staying in Buenaventura made it more memorable, the people were so nice, Brian and che-che and all the resort staff were so dependable on everything we asked and didn't ask. I got sick (the most unimaginable for a traveler who wishes to enjoy her vacation! madre mia!) I was so exhausted from work that when I reached this paradise my body was just not syncing yet. They took care of me and gave me this tea with herbs they had in their garden. I really appreciate it and it's so kind of them to think of me. Brian even did that tea the next morning again making sure I would enjoy the rest of my vacation. The rooms are clean, ac is working well. There are provision of free water all day and coffee in the morning. It is super near to the beach! you can rent a motorcycle, they can arrange massages for you as well as laundry service. There are books on the resto you can read and they are interesting, they have Paulo Coelho's the alchemist! lots of varieties to read there, and the place is full of interesting stuff I enjoy roaming my eyes while eating their good food. Brian had this little exhibit there and it's so interesting. Beware you might fall in love with cassie and adolf so adorable dogs :) It's just so calm and peaceful in this place. I noticed that people are coming and going and most of them have been frequent visitors for years! I guess the value and experience are worth coming back... so yes I'm coming back to...
Read moreWe stayed at Buenaventura for 6 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It’s perfect for a quiet, relaxing time, with nice conversations and the kind hospitality of Brian, the owner, and his partner CheChe. The couples we met were repeat guests, so there was a nice camaraderie felt from them. Good vibes and a good atmosphere. It was nice to simply have coffee or drinks in the evenings. The food was very good, especially the pizza. Brian also makes tasty pasta, and there were Filipino dishes also available. The rooms, terrace, and shared spaces were very clean, comfortable, and of a decent size. AC worked, and we appreciated the screen windows so we could have the windows open for fresh air without mosquitos flying in. We admired their courtyard garden of cacti and mango trees. The bed linens were cotton instead of synthetic micro fibre which we greatly appreciated for comfort. Housekeeping was on request, including fresh towels. There was also a long washing line available on ur terrace to hang our wet clothes. Brian was very accommodating and a superb host! We had a wonderful time and, for future stays, a small bedside lamp for evening reading and a floor fan for use in the room or on the terrace would make it even more comfortable. A heads up: There is no cellular signal at Buenaventura, but there is a very short walk to the beach, and seating at one of the other resort restaurants provides a signal. The WiFi connection was unstable, but we managed, as we could move to the...
Read moreOur stay at Buenaventura Beachresort was quite nice!||We arrived at the place at around 12:30 pm and they allowed us to check in early since the room was already available and ready. The travel going to sugar beach from Sipalay City might take around 30 to 45 minutes. You may hire a tricycle (P100 to P150) to drop you off the port where there are small boats that will cross you by the river. Crossing the river will cost you P5 to P10. When we got there, a young boy offered to drop us off in front of the resort, but you will have to cross the sea and he charged us P100. There are no life vests, so this is not recommended. Go through the side and just cross the river. Once you get to the other side, you can walk along the shoreline. This may take 15 to 20 mins walk, so if you are carrying big bags, it might take a while to get there.||The resort is near Big Bamboo Resort. Turn right once you see the big bamboo signage. It's a good 50m from the beach front. We rented a room with 2 beds. For the price, it was well worth it. Kuya Brian and Ate Cheche (the owners) were so helpful and accommodating. They offered to refund us when the TV was not working. They also helped us with the boat ride to the terminal going to the van going to the airport (confusing, I know. 😂). The food was so good. There are only a few people so it was quite and relaxing. The sunset is gorgeous. A perfect escape from the busy life in Manila. Will be sure...
