I booked my stay through Agoda/RedDoorz, which offered a cheap price point for the room. The location is decent, about a 5-10 minute walk to the main highway.
Cleanliness Concerns The cleanliness of the main room was acceptable, however, the bathroom was neglected with clear signs of black mold present throughout. This is a serious health and maintenance issue that needs immediate attention.
TERRIBLE Staff and Unacceptable Service The most significant problem with this hotel is the incompetent and unprofessional staff. Our experience during an attempted extension was extremely poor and ultimately ruined our stay.
We decided to extend for another night and booked and paid for it online via Agoda. Despite the room being paid for and confirmed, the staff insisted the room was unavailable and rudely kicked us out of our room, forcing us to wait in their cramped and hot waiting area.
My husband was forced to wait for four hours as the staff claimed they were waiting for confirmation from RedDoorz—even though the payment was already processed. They refused to let him leave, insisting he wait, which was a huge, unnecessary inconvenience.
To make matters worse, the staff offered completely false information, telling us we had been "transferred" to another RedDoorz location, which was untrue. It felt like they simply wanted us gone because we were asking for updates on our paid booking.
The situation escalated when a staff member began shouting and arguing with me on the phone. This level of unprofessionalism and hostility is completely unacceptable for anyone working in a service industry.
After a four-hour ordeal, they finally received a call confirming the booking. The entire situation was a nightmare of miscommunication, hostility, and inefficiency. We received zero apology or compensation for the extreme inconvenience and terrible treatment.
Recommendation: While the price is cheap, the appalling staff behavior, lack of service, and major inconvenience make this hotel a terrible value. I strongly advise future guests to book elsewhere until the management addresses the severe issues with their customer service and staff training....

If you're looking for a place with a decent surrounding area, this location works well. However, the experience within the hotel itself could be improved to match the convenience of the location.
Facilities & Cleanliness One major downside was the low water pressure, which made it difficult to shower properly. This was quite inconvenient, and better plumbing maintenance is needed. Additionally, the pool was a bit dirty, which made it less appealing for a relaxing swim. Regular cleaning and upkeep would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience.
Overall Verdict While the location and staff service were commendable, the hotel could improve significantly in terms of cleanliness, room maintenance, and amenities like water pressure and pool hygiene. If you're looking for a budget stay and don't mind a few inconveniences, this could still be an option. However, with some improvements, RedDoorz @ Picas Sagkahan Tacloban could offer a much better experience for travelers.

Read moreI don't have the intention to post a bad review but you blocked me on your fb page after sending my complaint thru messenger. This is my reply on your response to my frustrations. We understand if those were owners of the place. We also understand that it is for the safety of our children. If that's the case you need to put notes on you reddoorz account a notice na not allowed an kids sa pool so people will be aware ahead of time. But I'd like to reiterate retraining of your chinita front desk officer. Please tell her at least be considerate with your guest. Teach them to offer options. If the guest arrives at 1pm. They should offer at least a seat not just telling the customer "alas 2 pa an check in" we know that 2pm is the usual check in time but we had to go there an hour earlier beCause we no longer have other transactions in tacloban. Please tell her to at least smile or greet the guest because her vibe really cuts off the excitement of staying in your place. No matter how affordable your room rates if you are providing poor customer service, you will lose a lot of potential guests.
By the way, don't block me and my husband on your fb page. I sent you my frustrations thru fb messenger. I didn't even bother to rate you on FB. But because you blocked us I think your upcoming guest should know how poor your customer service is.
