The town of Arouca is nothing compared to the metropolitan cities of Lisboa or Porto. However, Hotel S. Pedro makes your stay in the town worthwhile.
Well located in the city, the hotel doesn't offer a majestic entrance that takes your breath away. However, the service is welcoming.
When entering the room (I stayed in a 2 single-bed room) I encountered a modern and comfortable room. There was sufficient 'moving around space' despite the two beds. The bathroom was also large but didn't offer all those little luxuries (but it's only a three star hotel).
I had breakfast, lunch and dinner there during two nights. Breakfast was what you'd expect from a 3*. Everything you need was offered except for the less healthy bacon and eggs :) Lunch and dinner service was for a group and not 'à la carte'. However, the service was once again plentiful and tateful.

But I guess that also speaks of its low-key profile in the landscape.||||The reception recommended the Parlamento restaurant, and so do we: excellent meet...
Read moreI recently stayed here for two nights whilst visiting the area. It looks like a clean modern hotel on arrival and the very helpful reception staff add to this. However sadly the attention is in the detail. The first room we were given, the tv didnt work and the toilet flush wasnt working. The reception staff were great at jumping on this and when they realised the toilet couldnt quickly be fixed they moved us to another room. This was really where the positives end. The room was tired, badly cleaned and the finishes in the bathroom where poor. Both bedside lampshades were heavily stained. However that said, the beds where comfortable. Breakfast is certainly adequate but the morning waiting staff are less than smiley! All in all a...
