Hi Martim and Catarina,
thank you so much for the wonderful and adventurous time at your surf school. I really enjoyed it and felt very comfortable. π»π€
During the two weeks I took surfing lessons with you, I learned so much and grew beyond my own expectations. I had taken a few surfing lessons at other schools before, so I was still at a beginner level. By the end, I was able to catch waves on my own, with just verbal instructions from the surf instructors. I felt so proud of myself. ππ
A big thank you to the entire friendly team of surf instructors, and especially to the kind instructor Alberto, who accompanied me most of the time during the two weeks. ππππ He structured the lessons in a playful, relaxed, and professional way, and was able to teach both children and adults in an empathetic and friendly manner. ππππ€ππΌ
I felt like you perfectly met me at my skill level, and I could ask questions at any time. The group often consisted of different age groups and experience levels (kids and adults). Despite this dynamic, the lessons were tailored to everyone individually. I thought that was really great. πππ Before we went into the water, we first learned the technique of standing on the board, paddling, and riding the wave. I felt safe throughout the entire lessons.
If you're looking for a great mix of competent knowledge-sharing, an open and respectful learning culture, with fun and relaxed conversations, you'll feel right at home here! π Therefore, I can warmly recommend this surf school to anyone who wants to learn surfing or strengthen their existing skills. I can't say anything about the accommodation offered by the surf school, as I only took surfing lessons. π
I'd love to come back and see you next time....
Β Β Β Read moreWe booked a surflesson but the only thing they taught us was the take off even if we told them that we already had two weeks of surf experience. The explanation wasn't that good either. The English knowledge of the instruktors was really basic, but they tried their best. We had to drive to the beach by ourselfs which ch isn't really a problem but they could've told us before. They told us that the waves would be great but when we were at the beach we were a little disappointed. Even when we told the instructor that we wanted to surf bigger waves in another part of the beach they "ignored" us and didn't seem very interested. So all we did was surfing on whitwashes what can be nice too but when I pay for a surflesson I want to get challenged. How am I supposed to learn otherwise? The gear was great and I think for beginners it would've been very nice but my experience here was rather bad l. Wouldn't recommend for people with more than a week of surf experience. The price would be ok for a surflesson but as is said we had to drive ourselfs and didn't learn...

We are 2 families with 5 children combined (age 5, 7, 8, 8 and 11). Didnt stay at the hotel, but took 4-days of surf lessons.
Martim is a real legend, getting in the water and pushing us into the waves. That way we get to surf a lot more waves then at other schools. It was also a good way to get constant feedback. It was so much fun, and everyone got the hang of it. On the later days we were able to catch our own waves as well.
But this is not the best part. The children were coached by Alberto and Vasco. Such talented and inspirational individuals. The kids had a blast, and everyone managed to surf. Language barrier was not a problem, they managed to communicate with examples and body language. Such energy and enthusiasm is rare. So big shout out to them!
I highly recommend anyone interested in learning how to surf to book lessons at Foz surfcamp &...
