Onyria Quinta da Marinha Hotel — Hotel in Cascais

The Hotel da Quinta da Marinha was the major surprise of our holidays. Our expectations were high, in line with a five-star hotel, but they were clearly exceeded. The experience got off to a great start, with the kindness and efficiency of the reception staff, in a very pleasant environment, with a spacious lobby and a light but delicious scent in the air. But it got even better when we entered the room, which in our case – as we were travelling with two small children – was a family room with a real king-size bed and a very comfortable and well-integrated bunk bed for the children, who loved it. Our room had a large balcony overlooking the beautiful Sintra Mountains, a natural aroma of pine trees and grass sitting in front of our room and the gentle chirping of birds perched in the trees. Paradise! For those travelling with children, the two swimming pools – the outdoor pool with a beautiful view and the indoor pool with several accessories and a perfect temperature for children and adults – guarantee fun for the little ones for as long as necessary. We didn't even need to use the Kids Club, which the hotel also offers. But the fun for children doesn't end there: at breakfast there is a spectacular pancake machine, which ensures that the little ones start the day cheerful and well fed. NOT a 5 STAR HOTEL = Internationals, BE CAREFUL.

I booked a room for 3 nights for myself and when I got there, my room was noisy ( despite what they are saying). I could hear the cleaning ladies in the corridor and as There was a weeding that day, It was a no go for me. I took those 3 nights to rest and get my mental health back on track.

I checked in at 1pm, checked out at 1.30pm

I booked through Booking.com and Booking said it would be fine to cancel minus a cancellation fee, which seems only fair. I even told the young man at the desk that I would not mind paying that 1 night, again it seems fair but please get my money back for the 2 other nights.

THEY did not reply to me or Booking until the stay was completed. I could not believe this. Absolute scam

And when they replied, 3 days later, they offered me 2 nights at their hotel BUT said they will not give the money back.

I travel a lot for work and mostly 5 star hotels, never experienced this in my life.

This is so wrong and it actually hurt to see injustice this way, we need a fairer and better world.

I am not letting go and will escalate this to make sure it never happens to anyone else.

Ps: attaching a screenshot to prove that what I am saying is true - Booking tried to contact them many times but they would not respond...just to not give my money back.

Ps2: I live 45mins away from that hotel - I will never recommend it anymore to anyone - they are plenty of better ones and safer for...

I stayed at this hotel for 10 days and it was really great. The staff is so nice and they tried to help with everything. If we would go to Lisbon and needed a place to park our car, the staff would give us directions. If we wanted to go to a traditional Portugese restaurant, the staff gave us a recommendations and they booked the restaurant for us with the best table! The service is just amazing. They’re very kind and polite. The pool is very nice and clean. You have a great view over the golfcourse. We tried the driving range and it was really good. The manager helped us with the technics and taught us a few things. He actually helped us a lot. Everyday there is a free activity you can join, like a yoga class, sup boarding in the lake or a running trip with some of the staff. I joined a few and it was a great experience. The food at the restaurant is really good. There are multiple restaurants: one with a buffet, one with a la carte menu and one more bar-like. The breakfast is also very good. It is buffet style, but the food is very fresh. The rooms are big with a balcony and a very nice bathroom. They are cleaned everyday.
