Ocean View Villa — Hotel in Funchal

I am not one to exaggerate, and when I praise something or someone highly, it is truly genuine! Let me start with Pedro, the host of the villa: Pedro is the best host I have ever encountered. From the first contact to our farewell, Pedro was a tremendous asset to us. He was available for ALL questions, whether it was about the booking, the villa, or any other recommendations around Madeira. Whenever something was missing in the house, it took less than 24 hours for him to provide it (e.g., an extra blanket, a sponge for washing dishes, a baking scale, etc.). He was practically available around the clock for all our inquiries and recommended the best places in Madeira. It is rare to meet someone as kind and helpful as him! My deepest thanks go to you, Pedro! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything!!!

As for the villa, I want to be honest too: it is in dire need of renovation (which is not apparent in the photos), especially concerning the kitchen (although the equipment is excellent!). Additionally, we found the villa to be too sterile and cold in design, with nothing that invites comfort—no carpets, no cushions, no tablecloth, and the white sofa (as shown in the photo) is no longer there. It is now gray, quite worn, and could use a cleaning. The house also felt a bit musty and damp inside, although there are good dehumidifiers. The pool is heated, but since it is not covered, it was relatively cold for us (in June), so hardly anyone used it, which was a pity. I had different expectations for a heated pool. Unfortunately, there were also no comfortable cushions for the pool furniture. The villa is not accessible without a car, so renting one is essential.

The best aspect of this villa is definitely the unbeatable view of the ocean, which truly lives up to the name Ocean View Villa.

All in all, I give this accommodation a 7 out of 10. Pedro, as a host, deserves an 11 out of 10 :)

Our stay here at the OceanView Villa Madeira was amazing!! I spent so much time looking for the perfect place (on Airbnb, Booking com, etc.) and I’m so glad to have found this one. This villa is the best for the quality/price, has the most beautiful ocean views & is also perfect for a family with kids!

Breathtaking views, exclusive & private & safe location and even more beautiful (sparkling clean) villa. The infinity pool & outdoor grill place were amazing, too! Yes, you will need to rent a car, but it’s well worth it (and it’s only 10 minutes away from the center by car). If you’re going to Madeira, I highly recommend renting a car anyway to see all beautiful sightseeings!!

Really cannot say enough great things about this villa and the host Pedro. He was great - very helpful & professional & gave us tips on things to do in Madeira. Will rent here again and highly recommend this place...

Sehr schönes Haus. Das Highlight ist der Pool, hier kann man gemütlich seine Runden ziehen. Das Hazs ist modern eingerichtet und bietet ausreichend Platz. Die Außenanlage ist schön angelegt, hier gibt es einen Esstisch für 6 Personen, sowie eine Lounge direkt am Grill (der am Avend beleuchtet werden kann, also ist Grillen auch im dunkeln möglich, super). Die Fahrt mit dem Auto ist wirklich sehr abenteuerlich, eine extreme Steigung über gut 2km. Wir haben nach 2 Tagen unsere Mietautos getauscht ( mehr PS) und das war definitiv kein Fehler. Bitte Bedenken. Zusammengefasst ein wunderschönes Haus, in dem man super mit 6-8 Personen einen traumhaften Urlaub verbringen...
