Engenho Hostel — Hotel in Lajes do Pico

Great location and very clean and modern house/rooms with a nice view on the ocean. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. But, two things that bothered me. the bathroom door is one of these sliding barn-doors, so you can't lock it, it didn't stay closed, and had a huge gap between wall and door... it's just something worth mentioning. The thing that actually bothered me was the paper thin walls, you could hear every single word the people in the next room said, and they didn't yell or anything. So if you aren't bothered by the lack of privacy in the bathroom and people being able to hear everything you do or say in the next room, the location is definitely worth...

Amazing place, totally rehabilitated, new, modern, beautiful architecture and design and extremely cozy. Amazing view to the mountain of Pico from the room I stayed. It has a totally equiped and functional kitchen. It’s perfect wether you’re a solo traveler, traveling as a couple, traveling with friends or family. Only negative side is that our room was very warm and hot. we asked several times for a little fan to cool it down because it was impossible to sleep.
