Easy to find and excellent parking, the hotel itself is very quirky with lots of artifacts of old bikes, gramophone, piano, tills, scales and much more
The outside seating and pool area is lovely, clean and very relaxing - the pool is perfect in every way.
Fantastic choices at breakfast with lots of seating.
Rooms are a touch dated but fit in with the style of hotel, very clean and comfy beds with good air conditioning.
We had an incident which could have been handled better by the staff on duty at the time. The shower plug / drain was not draining quick enough so when taking a shower I was unaware that the water was running into the bathroom floor under the door and out onto the corridor.
We were made aware of this happening by another guest , so immediately switched off the shower and went to inform reception - the lady on reception handed me a mop, bucket and towels, mmmm ok so I took them up and started cleaning it up then 10 mins later she appeared with a maintenance man, he had a plunger to use for unblocking the pipes.
Eventually the water went from the shower cubicle but the receptionist was very reluctant to help clean the excess water, saying it wasn't her job and was blaming us for letting it happen and came across quite aggressive.
We cleaned most of it up and the maintenance guy could not completely fix it because when the filter was put back , it failed to drain the water again, although it was amusing when the maintenance guy switched show shower on to test it and drenched himself forgetting it was an overhead shower !! Even funnier when I'm he did it a second time 🤣🤣
So when taking a shower we had to remove the plug filter which was unpleasant because the toilet sewage smell would come through and stench the whole room out !! So wasn't impressed and we never got an apology, then the lady on reception was very abrupt and miserable with us for the rest of our stay.
BUT I would sure return here because it was just an incident and will assume the receptionist must have had a bad week.
I took would recommend here as it was very nice, peaceful and fairly close to the...
Read moreI've just stayed here for a week with my fiance and we had a great relaxing time.||We booked a cheap deal for this holiday so knew it wouldn't be all singing all dancing. Firstly the pros would be the beautiful pool area which was so calm and relaxing. Comfy loungers and a great place to switch off (please ignore the train comments in other reviews as it's not an issue at all). The breakfast room was bright and spacious, and we enjoyed the selection of food each morning. The bed was comfy and there were 3 good restaurants close to the hotel which we enjoyed. We slept well each night and found the bed in the room comfortable and the shower very good. The air con was excellent which was ideal when returning from the pool. The hotel has some beautiful features inside and has a nice outdoor seating area just past the bar. ||Areas for opportunity would be firstly, clothing storage space in the room. We had a double room and both lived out of our suitcases for a week. There were only a few hangers and no drawers at all, which should be reviewed by the hotel. The room tended to be dark, so an upgrade in lighting would help. We felt there was so much opportunity for the outside and bar area to be developed, I.e. Maybe some soft music playing, creating more of an atmosphere to encourage people to sit in these areas. There is also a large marquee and downstairs eating space which don't seem to be in use - huge opportunity to offer a dining space for lunch.||Be prepared to be away from the main tourist area of Vilamoura, as it is an hour walk to the Marina. We used the Uber app all week to go up and down from the Marina and beaches to the hotel, this was very handy.||Overall, we had a really nice week and enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this hotel, but be mindful of the distance from the tourist area if that is where you're keen to be. We quite enjoyed having the option of being able to have a couple of nights out away from the...
Read moreWe have driven past this hotel on many occasions over the years, but decided to give it a try during a recent long weekend break in the Algarve and so pleased we did.||||It's a lovely little hotel, immaculately clean throughout and very friendly staff. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the pool which was delightful. The rooms have everything you need and an excellent walk-in shower. We asked for a kettle and got one. Breakfast is plentiful with a selection of hot and cold food. The pool area is very nice with plenty of sunbeds. Very relaxing. The hotel has a licenced bar and the prices are very reasonable.||||Fortunately, we had a car so could get out and about which might be the only drawback if you didn't have transport - the hotel is somewhat off the beaten track in terms of local amenities. The restaurant next door wasn't open during the time we were there which meant we had to drive in order to get lunch/dinner but that wasn't a problem for us.||||Really enjoyed our short stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly...
