Oliveira Dourada — Restaurant in Loulé

Stayed locally and found this hidden gem on Google maps. My family (partner and two kids) went here and although the menu was limited it was delicious. It was lovely and quiet but we are told the venue needs to be booked a week, sometimes two during the peak summer season. Our fussy kids wouldn't have anything on the menu but the kind hosts came out with breads and little dessert treats for no extra cost. They tried their best! Myself and my partner had the veal and it was absolutely devine. We came spontaniusly with friends, diddnt know the place before and found this hidden champion and are still amazed.

What a great pleasant stay, calm(a), soft in music and interior - and then the food & wine came. It is, after you can offered (and never ate) all this "English orientated Golf Clubhouse sandwiches" a heaven.

Book in advance and dont be nervous after turing right from the National road in a darker side road. You cannot expect to find such a place -its either luck or you go actively.

We did both on two days and will come back. Its btw not a quuestion to go, after you read this post, you must go.

I have been in a few good restaurants during my week of holiday, this is definitely the best one. Apparently it is pre-booking only, and I could see why. We were probably lucky enough to get there in one quiet Thursday evening and we were hosted. Everything is perfect. The atmosphere, the quietness, the service and, of course, the food. Some traditional and some very interesting fusion dishes. The bill, considering the quality of the dishes served, the generous amount, the free starter is totally honest and I was happy to leave some extra as a gesture of appreciation.
