Poor breakfast, dirty neighbourhood, no friendly receptionist and overall loud and old room. Made our experience in Porto really bad... unfortunately!

The hotel is quite far out from Porto city centre and you need to take a bus then a metro to get there. The buses are very infrequent and you could be waiting an hour for one. The local area is very basic and apart from the metro doesn't have much going for it. There are very few places to eat and barely any pavements so you cant even walk too far in case you get ran over. It is very basic in terms of its facilities as the towels are on the small side and they do not provide toiletries apart from soap, which does smell quite nice. They don't provide you with a hairdryer either which I feel is a must in a hotel. The room is on the small side and we had to put our suitcases in the wardrobe to make space to actually walk around the room. The bathroom was quite nice and the shower was good but it had a tendency to flood the floor so we had to put towels down on the floor each time we had a shower. However, the drains appeared to be causing a bad smell to emanate from the bathroom as some days the odour was unbearable. There were only two hangers in the wardrobe, the staff did manage to find a few more for us which was nice but there are no drawers to put your clothes in so you are basically living out of your case while you're here. The breakfast is extremely basic containing of 2 options of sugary cereal, bread rolls, ham, cheese and jam. We bought our own cereal to eat downstairs which staff had no issue with and we found the bread rolls were very nice but more of a selection would have been nice. It was very noisy and you could hear everything going on outside in the hallway and in the adjoining rooms. Also the key can be tricky to use and on the first day we had to get staff to open the door and this seemed to be an issue for other guests as they were quite loud and taking a long time to open their doors. They only have one key for each room so if you want your room cleaned you need to leave your key at reception. I wouldn't stay here again due to the location and...

First of all, bear in mind that this is a 2 star residential, and that my review takes that in account. I stayed for 4 nights.||||Location: I was there on business, and the places I needed to go where pretty close, so for me the location was perfect.||||Bedroom: On the negative side, there where some dead bugs smashed on the walls, and the closet was a bit dusty, I think this could be fixed pretty easily by the maid. I'm 1.70 m and the beds where, and felt, really small. Also the door was a bit cheap and it takes a bit to get used to the lock/unlock process.||On the positive side, there's a big LED TV with satellite, and the overall look is nice and comfortable.||||Bathroom: Negative is that it gets all wet after a shower, the glass cover could have 30 cm, that would be perfect. ||On the bright side, it's completely new and really good for the price tag.||||Service: It's the genuine Porto feeling, the staff is EXTREMELY nice, and we were really well received and taken cared of. Everything in the breakfast is fresh and on a good quantity. I've had much worse in supposed much better hotels. There's a very good wi-fi signal in the bedrooms (I stayed at 107).||||A key aspect for the work I was doing was to have full access to the room at any time (24h), which proved flawless. Even at 3-4 in the morning I was greeted with at a smile and that definitely erases all the small details flaws. ||||I recommend it if you need a cheap place to sleep and aren't going to spend much time in...

Hotel Areoess in Porto offers a delightful stay with its exceptional facilities and prime location. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, providing ample comfort, and the bathrooms are modern, clean, and well-maintained. Its proximity to key attractions makes exploring the city effortless, adding significant value to your trip. Guests particularly appreciate the great value for money, given the high quality of the amenities and the central location. However, the hotel's otherwise excellent experience is slightly hampered by a couple of issues. The in-room internet coverage can be unreliable and slow, especially no signals with the doors closed, which can be frustrating for guests needing to work or stream. Additionally, service for minor maintenance issues, such as a faulty bathroom tap, can be quite sluggish. Despite these small setbacks, Hotel Areoess remains a highly recommended choice for its comfort, convenience, and...
