Yuko Tavern — Restaurant in Porto

I recently visited Yuko Tavern and had an amazing experience! The standout dish for me was definitely the Francesinha. This dish had a sauce that was both flavorful and a little spicy. The sauce was the perfect complement to the savory meats and cheese. The dish was also served with a side of crispy fries, which were a great addition to the meal. The decoration of the restaurant was also noteworthy, with a mix of traditional and modern elements that created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. However, it’s worth noting that the restaurant was quite lively and bustling, with a lot of noise and activity. While this added to the overall energy of the space, it may not be the best choice for those looking for a quiet or intimate dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Yuko Tavern for anyone looking for a delicious meal and a vibrant atmosphere. The Francesinha is a must-try dish for anyone who loves hearty and flavorful food, and the restaurant’s decoration and energy make it a great place to relax and enjoy a night out...

The francesinha is good, not great and a bit bland.

We were 3 people and the steak inside for me was great, and nicely cooked but for the other 2 people it was thinner and overcooked making it a bit harder to chew and slice. This is a bit concerning

In my opinion, the sauce could be thicker. It's too thin making it seep into the bread and the fries way to much, and making them damp instead of sticking a bit more in the outside if that makes sense.

Flavour wise the sauce also wasn't the most interesting I've had.

The rest of the fillings felt insufficient. Lots of bites around the francesinha would only come with bread steak ham and cheese.

The fries could be better as well.

It is still 4 stars nonetheless since it won't be a bad experience but for sure you can find a way better fracesinha some other places.

A Yukko Tavern é um espaço com bastante nome no Porto, muito conhecido especialmente pelas francesinhas, e a verdade é que essa fama é bem merecida. A experiência é mesmo muito positiva, com vários detalhes que tornam a visita memorável.

Foi escolhida a francesinha tradicional com ovo, e posso dizer que estava excelente. O pão destacou-se desde logo — muito fresco e de qualidade, ligeiramente maior do que o habitual, o que faz com que a refeição seja bastante satisfatória. Todos os componentes estavam muito bem preparados: o bife tenro e saboroso, as carnes complementares no ponto certo, e o queijo bem derretido a envolver tudo. Um verdadeiro equilíbrio de sabores que realça o cuidado na confeção.

Um dos grandes destaques foi o molho, servido de uma forma muito especial: vem num jarro tradicional, com tons azulados que fazem lembrar o estilo dos antigos azulejos portugueses. É uma peça que chama a atenção pela estética e pelo toque cultural que dá à refeição. Dentro vem o molho, com uma colher própria para servir — daquelas usadas para retirar molhos em tacho — e que permite ao cliente acrescentar conforme o gosto. O molho tem um sabor clássico, típico do Porto, mas com uma consistência um pouco mais fluida que o habitual, o que o torna mais leve e menos picante, mas extremamente saboroso. Uma combinação perfeita entre tradição e suavidade.

Acompanhámos a refeição com uma sangria de 1 litro, no valor de 18 euros. Estava muito bem feita, com frutos vermelhos, fresca e equilibrada. Uma bebida que complementa muito bem o prato principal. A sangria será também espelhada numa das fotos da visita, pois vale a pena registar.

O espaço da Yukko Tavern é acolhedor e tem um ambiente muito próprio. A decoração lembra uma taverna antiga, com bastantes elementos em madeira e um estilo que remete às casas tradicionais, misturado com objetos que evocam o Porto e a cultura portuguesa. Uma atmosfera rústica mas muito bem cuidada.

O atendimento foi atencioso e simpático, sempre com disponibilidade para esclarecer dúvidas e garantir uma boa experiência.

O preço médio por pessoa deve rondar os 15 a 20 euros, sendo que no meu caso ficou entre os 20 e os 25, devido à sangria. Pela qualidade da refeição, do ambiente e do atendimento, é uma experiência que vale...
