The hosts enthusiasm and helpfulness is what make this hostel worth staying at. Nothing is too much trouble, we were provided with maps and suggestions on things worth looking at. There's also the option to hire bikes (good bikes) to explore the bike trails and surrounds, which we did. And when we got a little lost, low and behold our host was there to guide us back on track! Their caps are fine but their flip flops, which you pay 3 euros for, quickly become SUPER floppy 🤣...
Read moreWe found Granny's house hostel by chance whilst exploring the northern Portugese coast. Praia de Mira is a wonderful gem tucked away between forests and beaches, bars and lagoons. One of the only working fishing beaches makes a fantastic place to relax, play in the Atlantic but also watch the wonders of the fishing trade (with tractors, beautiful boats and massive nets). The sunset is also devine and moving. The whole town is filled with friendly people and your hosts Bruno and Louis are absolutely top hosts and beautiful, lovely people. We so glad we found this place and got to cycle the idilic paths thanks to Granny's house bicycles. Highly...
