I recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa de Campo in Algarvia - Azores, with a group of nine people, and I must say that our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the attentive staff to the well-appointed house, every aspect of our stay surpassed our expectations.
First and foremost, the staff at Casa de Campo went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our entire stay. They were incredibly caring, accommodating, and always available to assist with any inquiries or requests we had, just had to phone them. Their warm and friendly demeanour truly made us feel welcomed and valued as guests.
The house itself was simply great. Spacious, comfortable, and traditionally decorated, it provided us with a wonderful home away from home. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our meals, making it convenient for our large group. We were able to enjoy some cooked meals together, which added an extra element of togetherness and joy to our vacation.
One of the highlights of Casa de Campo was undoubtedly the swimming pool area, which offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and a front-row seat to witness the most phenomenal sunsets. The serenity and tranquillity of the pool area provided the perfect space for relaxation and unwinding after a day of exploring the beautiful Azores.
Furthermore, the location of Casa de Campo was ideal for our group. It offered a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city, which was around 40min drive from. Whether we wanted to explore the natural beauty of the Azores, visit nearby beaches, or embark on adventurous hikes, Casa de Campo served as an excellent base for all our...
Read moreCasa de Campo was the worst stay we have ever had. We were given a cockroach-infested room. I've traveled the world, including third-world countries, where the standards were much higher. We were assigned room number 5. Upon entering, it reeked of moisture, which is an immediate red flag for anyone concerned about health or aesthetics.
Despite the initial concerns, we tried to make the best of it. However, the common area next to our room was noisy until as late as 11 pm. Additionally, room number 4, adjacent to ours, had a hole above the ceiling covered by a poster, allowing us to hear our neighbors' conversations. The bathroom ventilation was also a problem—if your neighbor uses the toilet at 2 am, the ventilation noise will wake you up.
The worst part came the next morning when we saw cockroaches. We informed the owner, but the he denied the accusations and took them lightly. Let me tell you, a cockroach only appears in very unhygienic and dirty places. The explanation that it's the countryside and there are lots of insects is unacceptable. Even in the most cockroach-prone regions, places with standards don't have this problem.
We had a booking for 4 nights but left the room as soon as we saw the insects. The owner did not apologize and only refunded us for 3 nights, effectively making us pay for one night in a room full of cockroaches. If they had refunded the entire amount and apologized, we might not have written this review.

Read moreBeautifully renovated and decorated with taste and style this property was a nice surprise. Easy to find, free parking in closed courtyard and all you may possibly need in the house. Sounds perfect? It almost has been ... The only problem we've had was a terrible cold ... the house was not heated and considering a time of visit (end of March) it was freezing inside. Extremely polite and helpful owner (?) immediately brought us a heather but it was unfortunately not enough. As they knew we were coming they should have started heating earlier.||I'm convicted that during warmer days this house will...
