Iris — Hotel in Băile Tușnad

The location is easy to find, not far from the main road, having a dedicated parking near by the guesthouse. The views from this location are quite beautiful, especially from top floors. Rooms are decent in size and clean, equipped with small fridge and TV. We had 2 rooms on top floor, where bathrooms are quite small and require upgrade (problems with shower head, sink tap, etc.), also no ventilation. There are also very nice balconies on top floor. Personnel (not many seen around) seems to be nice and try to help. On the positive side, I can mention: views from top floors, decent pricing, clean location. There are also some negatives: the guest house is squeezed between many other villas (lower floors have no view, lot of noise coming from neighbors being just meters away and having party till morning); summer time when very warm, top floors become very hot - in excess of 30-32 degrees C, with no air conditioning and difficult to ventilate (B-B-Q's around). Room cleaning is done ONLY by requirement (including garbage pick up or sheets/towels change), at least cleaning should be done on a daily basis. We did not use restaurant because lunch is not offered, while dinner fixed menu, which I consider another minus. Area is very quiet, owner was nice and polite. Parking was ok. Rooms are dirty and old. Bedsheets were so dirty and full of hairs that we had to use stickers for clothes to clean them. (Photo attached) Shower had good hot water and water pressure, but it was dirty, had mold in corners. Sink and toilet were very dirty. In the kitchen holder for dishes had fluffy mold inside. Dishes were dirty and we had to sterilise them with boiling hot water. Knives and forks same story.. Kitchen has only one oven. Barbecue area is good and has cage with beautiful big dog. The pension is situated 10 minutes walk from the center in a quiet place. The rooms are clean and with everything you need. We stayed in a room with jacuzzi which was big and also had a balcony that was not expensive at all. There is a fridge; a big TV and a very nice jacuzzi. The bed was not so good as the mattress has arcs but we slept ok eventually. The restaurant serves good food at good prices and the breakfast which is 20 lei per person is a buffet with good variety of choices. The staff is very polite and helpful. We would definitely stay here again on...
