Hotel Bistrita — Hotel in Bistrița

The hotel is a little tired but for a short stay, close to the town centre, with free easy parking, it ticks all the boxes. Having parked the car the town is easily walkable indeed as a starting point, focus on the main church tower, and the tourist office for general information is located approximately opposite the main entrance on the opposite side of the park. The hotel is popular with Romanians and a venue for weddings, of which there were two during our three day stay. Reception staff speak English and are very helpful. Indeed having attended a wedding in a local village upon vacating the hotel I left behind my expensive evening suit, shirt, tie etc - no I wasn't drunk. I only stayed for 1 night and didn't have breakfast, but the room was clean, the bed and bedding were clean and of good quality. Some blackout curtains would have afforded us a longer sleep, but the room was big and the overall atmosphere of the property is quite pleasant. Unfortunately there's no elevator. We were on the 1st floor and had to carry our bags up 1 flight of stairs which was fine, but others might have difficulty, particularly after a long journey. The prices of this property can vary. It can be substantially cheaper than the Coroana de Aur which is directly adjacent, or it can have similar pricing. If the prices are similar, I would go for the Coroana de Aur as the room and ambience there is nicer and it has an elevator. But, that said, I would be just as comfortable recommending Hotel Bistrita as I would...

They are still doing some refurbishment works so you can't expect to find all new or in place, but you are going to find a good service and quality of service/product in exchange for your money.

The rooms are cleaned up and in good conditions. The hotel is located in the city centre with parking enough for all the hosts. Restaurant is one of their great points, managed independently for events is cared with love by the managers and you can see it in the decoration and the distribution as well in the kitchen results.
