On Top Chalet — Hotel in Bran

Indeed, a great project on paper, but poorly executed. We waited for two years to get that moment when all of our friends would be available in order to book the property. I was really happy that finally we would have the chance to live this wonderful experience, OnTopChalet. But when we got there, a big disapointment was on our faces. Pictures vs reality hit..... It is not well built, the road which reaches the parking lot is made out of concrete bars from the train tracks, so, if a little wet, your car will have massive problems to get traction. The angle is around 45 degrees, so no joke about it. The terrace has no direct comunication with the house, so if it rains, you will get wet while staring at the beutifull view. The beds are not at all confortable, not at all. The house has been built on metallic structure, so you will feel the vibrations if a friend closes or opens the front door. Not have to get in details regarding the sound proofing. If you made the bad decision of going in summer you will discover why it is mandatory to use a high quality glass if your house features a glass facade. Basically in OnTopChalet it is impossible to stay during the summer days.

The ugly part is that not all rooms have their own bathroom.

The second level, which is accessed by a very dangerous staircase, features two rooms which share a toilet.

And to top it with the most lame thing that can happen to 12 guests located on top of the hill, where once you park your car you are affraid to move it, we ran out of toilet paper.

Everybody knows that one roll of paper in each toilet is not enough for two nights.

Contacted the host on this matter, and she told us that it is impossible to not have extra toilet paper in the house....yes, lame.

The thing which made us get pass the ugly parts was the food prepared with love by Mrs Mariana, a nextdoor neighbour who coocked for us and offered a much needed relief.

The reason why I told the host that everybody had a great time was that we had great food, nice wine and good laughter.

If it was the location which had to make us happy, the message would have been...

Dezamagitor! Am ales aceasta locatie pt un eveniment important din viata noastra. Din pacate! Ce am gasit la fata locului nu este nici pe departe pe masura impresiei lasate dupa vizualizarea pozelor vazute online. Clasica afacere romaneasca, investesti la inceput apoi lasi totul balta, doar sa produca bani, caci deh, romanul vine oricum. Am gasit casa necuratata de cine stie cand, mult praf peste tot, praf vechi, nu din ala de cateva zile, lenjerie de pat patata, parchetul din toata casa nu vazuse aspiratorul de ceva vreme, panze de paianjeni pe la colturi, sertare care duhneau a usturoi, de nu puteai respira, fire de par ramase in urma amintire de la oaspetii precedenti, in general toate compartimentele mobilei de bucatarie manjite de urme de grasime, firimituri pe masa din living, usile, geamurile, orice suprafata la care te poti gandi, toate purtau marca neglijentei si necuratarii dealungul timpului. Terasa ingrozitoare, toate pernele dezastruos de murdare, pline de par de la animalutele din zona, frigiderele miroaseau. Am facut curat in toata casa ca sa nu simt rusinea de a fi ales acest loc total neglijat fata de invitatii mei. Nu exista scuze pt ce am gasit acolo, avand in vedere ce se doreste a fi aceasta cazare si pretul perceput. Am sesizat faptul ca nu era facuta curatenie in vila iar raspunsul proprietarului a fost ca nu au avut de obicei reclamatii....fara nicio alta reactie, curiozitate sau implicare fata de problema sesizata. A venit doamna care se ocupa de curatenie, a luat pernele la subrat, le-a schimbat fetele si a plecat. Bineinteles ca putinele poze pe care am avut rabdare sa le fac, nu descriu nici pe departe realitatea a ceea ce am gasit. Singura asteptare pe care indraznesc sa o am cu acest review, este ca proprietarul sa inteleaga ca este important sa aiba grija de acest loc, cu seriozitate si implicare, ca nu este suficient doar sa dea bine in poze, daca doreste o afacere pe termen lung. In rest, stiu clar ca nu voi mai reveni aici, si voua, celor care cititi aceste randuri, cu sinceritate nu va recomand aceasta cazare, daca doriti sa aveti confortul unei case bine...

Everything about this place is stunning! I just wanted a weekend to relax with my family and enjoy the area and what we got in exchange was much more than expected. The view is amazing, rooms are big, with comfortable beds, hosts were super proactive and I can’t thank then enough for their hospitality! All those small details made a difference in our stay and I truly believe it was worth every penny! For an instagrammable place and more.. this is the place to be! Thanks guys, will...
