We have stated at this hotel a couple of times, the fist time being a couple of years ago and the most recent being just last week for a period of two weeks
While the accommodations are great (compared to other hotels in Bucharest) and the hotel staff being reasonable, specifically when you are a tourist that speaks no Romanian
The over all experience was mostly unpleasant.
While the hotel features a large swimming pool, fitness center and a large Jacuzzi, which happens to be in a separate building which includes the saunas and spa
The hotel temperature seemed to be set to about 100 degrees Fahrenheit the entire time, which made it extremely uncomfortable even though the temperature outside was cold.
My guess is that the culture in the country does not take in consideration the fact that tourist stay at the location, as it was weird not to find ice machines anywhere in the hotel building, even wrong by the restaurant or bar to request ice was an ordeal, as most of the time you where only offered a glass of it.
I guess the lack of drinking water is an incentive to make an extra dollar, as every time you request just a glass of water you are offered a bottle for a cost
The spa, sauna was perhaps the worst of the experiences I have ever had, regardless of the extra cost to get access, the worst came to a point when once inside I had the need to urinate, with the urgency and the need to find a bathroom, we proceed ed to the spa reception where the attendant (Alejandra) who may have been on a very important call proceeded to responde when we asked where the nearest bathroom was "can you see that I'm on the phoe!"
Whit out time to waste we proceeded to walk on the underground mase to the 5th floor to our room where I was only able to make it to the bathroom floor
After the incident, I proceeded to walk over to the spa reception where I asked Alejandra if she knew how long and how much money I had spend on my stay, for some one to disregard the bathroom emergency in That manner, and how her actions represented an inexcusable lack of interest on costumer satisfaction, to which she replied she didn't care, and she didn't care how much money I had spent
Once I had mentioned I would contact costumer care or the ownership of the hotel to report her actions, she proceeded to call security and threatened me to call the police for screaming at her, not long after the security card arrived threatening me to leave
At that point I took my phone and began video taping them, asking if they could tell me the same thing on camera.
Needless to say that once I started recording they all just went back to pretending to do something and completely ignoring me.
We had chosen this hotel for the convenience of the location, and a some what good experience the previous time, but one thing is for sure, I will never stay at the location ever again and will desperately warn other people to stay at this location, especially if they speak little...
Read moreVery bad experience. There were 3 major problems: the shower stopped working properly (didn't react to temperature changes) every evening of the weekend the hotel organised very loud weddings in the restaurant until the late hours. After complaining at the reception about the loudness they didn't even offer another room. one day nobody tidied up the room nor the bed.
I told about all these problems and the fact that we didn't sleep the last night and couldn't even take a shower in the morning, and that we had an important meeting. The manager didn't want to offer any discount because "the shower could have been repaired if we had asked to". Later I wrote an email to the manager where I explained everything, and nobody ever reacted! The hotel has a very nice spa but service level is very, very far away from what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Nobody even tried to apologize or compensate in any way these problems. Night rest is the primary product you buy in a hotel, and they...
Read moreDefinitely not a five star hotel. Four stars is a maximum. The so called spa was just a large and very chlorinated pool, the other pool we never tried (looked like a jakuzi), sauna was paid for, for some reason; massages were decent.
Details were lacking in the whole hotel in terms of room supplies, service, interior design, but the worst was the breakfast, which was mediocre at best. The only thing worth mentioning was the bacon, which was almost as thin and as cooked as it should be. Food and utensils weren't updated regularly during breakfast, obviously because the staff wasn't used to people drinking and eating things. The place was pretty empty.
At least the room was spaceous, although I didn't notice getting a new shower cap for the three days we were there. There was a jug for hot water, but no green tea and no coffee creamer. Windows were large, but didn't seem insolated enough and I could hear people talking at 3 in the morning when arriving at the hotel, because we were above...
