Restaurant Pension Bucura — Hotel in Calimanesti

This is purely a restaurant review.

After the disappointing lack of tables of another restaurant, me and my brother have decided the next best option would be this one, as it was close and we were in a hurry.

The staff was very polite and allowed us to look at the menu beforehand, to see if we are happy with the prices. Although the budget was a little over what our mom gave us, we made it work with our pocket money.

If you were to order, you'd have to scan a QR code and call in the server from there, which I thought was really inventive, as it got rid of the waiting problem and it didn't require us to spend time finding the server at the end.

We ordered two pepsi max's and two pizzas: one was Pollo, and one was Margherita. The wait time was, I would say, average for a pizza. However, when I first took a bite out of it, it was like stepping into another world. The sauce and cheese were at a perfect ratio, the crust and bread overall were amazing, and both pizzas tasted incredible.

About the view: there wasn't much to see, as there was a hotel right in front of this one, but as i was facing Bucura - more specifically, a pool that would transfer to a waterfall - it was quite relaxing, as I was not only seeing the water go down the walls in a satisfying way, but also the wide forest behind.

Really nice, well-laid, comfortable, large restaurant. Bad food - maybe unlucky: one dish - pasta a la chef - was impossible to be eaten - too salty or too spicy (and I always - 99.99% - finish my meal, but not this one) another dish - was just really mediocre the dessert - mousse with ice cream ("homemade") was already frozen - they didn't even have extra ice cream for it ("no ice cream in the kitchen...weird how they homemade it with ice cream then😂) bad, load and tiring music (they wanted to play traditional "live" music), but there was a playlist on the speakers, with random dedications - as there was a wedding...
