Hello! i went to New Derby Hotel for two nights last week (8-10 august 2014); i know it is a huge responsability writing this review, since there are no other reviews on this hotel, so i'll try to make myself useful.||||Location: The location was somewhere is Constanta, that was no problem for us because we had a car and we could go to Mamaia easily; there is nothing special about the location, no view from the room window etc. There were a few reserved parking spots in front of the hotel, but not enough for all the guests - but that wasn't a problem because there are a lot of parking places across the street.||||Rooms: i don't remember the number of the room exactly, but it was on the 1st floor. The room was ok, it was clean and it had a hairdryer, minibar, tv, no balcony. It felt quite comfortable, i slept good, but the air conditioning was pretty weak.. or maybe i did not figure out how to use it properly. I liked the general atmosphere of the room, but i didn't like the bed - did not look like a hotel bed, it looked more like a bedroom bed, understand what i'm saying? And the bathroom was basic, nothing special.. and it was kinda'.. with light green tiles, i hated that colour!||Please note that you have no balcony and no elevator...||||Breakfast: please do not expect too much from the breakfast! here is exactly what you receive: 1/2 tomato, 1 slice of cheese, few slices of cold meats, white sliced bread; you can take by yourself from a table: plain zuzu yogurt (the only thing that i ate during my stay), process cheese squares, apricot jam and butter. If you are not as pretentious as i am, you will be satisfied enough and you won't die of hunger.. my boyfriend was ok with this breakfast. Another thing that i did not like was that on that table there were some big bowls meant for cereals, in the first day i took the last drop of plain corn cereals for my yogurt.. and in the next day - no refill of cereals; seriosly?!?! But i loved the coffee, though! - strong enough for my taste.||||Staff: the staff was ok, the girl from the reception made me an invoice for my company, which was good. The thing that i did not find proffesional - they called me like 3 times before i arrived in order to confirm my reservation on booking.com. I was like: i have already told you, i'm coming!! everything was fully booked that weekend, that's why!||||There is not much to add.. it is a basic hotel, we were satisfied enough... we did not have many options that weekend and this hotel took no advance payment. Good luck in making your...
Read moreI spent 2 nights in this hotel in October 2014, in room 24. |It did not have an elevator, so I had to carry my luggages up the stairs, all the way to the 2nd floor.| The room was ok, average looking. I was given a single room with two 1-person beds. Regarding the bed, the matress was terrible, very hard and quite small, I couldn't get a good sleep. (More like a child bed).|The bathroom was a nightmare. There was scale on every metal part, and the shower cabin was full of mold and mildew. | The breakfast was a joke. I was given on a plate 4 slices of salami (different types), half a tomato and a small slice of cheese. From the buffet I could grab some butter (which was actually margarine) and small processed cheese triangles and some soda (not juice)|As a conclusion, quite pricey for what it offers. The price per night for a single room is 43 euro (170 lei) and for a double room is 48 euro (190 lei). |Quite high prices, for not so good...
Read moreLet's be honest, you can get better hotels for 50 EUR a night. My room was very small. The refrigerator is unplugged and there is only one socket in the room. We ended up buying an energy splitter. The bed was clean, but on low effort. No extra pillows, either. Our bathroom was cleaned, but not clean. We had a white layer of mildew on our red walls in the bathroom. The showerhead was incredibly dirty and the kit edges were black of mold. ||Also, there is no elevator which is not friendly for people in a wheelchair. The owner does not care much about turists. ||I will not come back at this hotel and will choose something else when I am in...
