Hotel Kleyn — Hotel in Constanta Metropolitan Area

Last year was my first visit at the Kleyn Hotel and, even thought I was not impressed about it, I was happy with the location. This year I choose the same hotel for 3 nights, for a short stay with my mother. I was deeply disappointed to see the very bad condition of it. Curtains broken and burned, walls were dirty, dust everywhere you was looking, chalk and mold all over the bathroom, the shelf from the bathroom mirror hanging, toilet very dirty, mattress damage. I said to myself that I will not make any drama for few hours’ sleep. But coming back in the room the second day, I have found a big bug in the bathroom. I called the reception, the girl came and killed it with the spray and then with her shoe. Before the incident, I had ask for the price for one of my friends for one night in the same room and an additional bed. The receptionist said they don`t offer this service, but she can stay for one night (even thought I can bet nobody would notice her, as the receptionists hardly said “hello” when you were entering the hotel). Next day, the hotel manager (who is also the owner) approached me to ask me to leave the hotel if I am so unhappy with their service. I am sorry I did not take any picture with the bug because it was never my intention to complain about (even thought I should expect these kind of “visitors” with that kind of cleanliness level). Shocked, I tried to explain her that there was no complaint from my sight, but I was expecting at least kind of apologize, not an extra charge for it (which by the way, for the 3rd person she asked me to pay half of the price for one night and complimentary was giving me an omelet – that was the breakfast). For me, working in hospitality for my entire life, I had found much unappropriated way of talking to a return guest. Nevertheless, the conversation degenerated into threats from the hotel manager sight. After that day, have to mention that the towels were not even changed (and for a 3 stars it is mandatory every 2nd day) and about the linen I am not even talking. But yes, as you can see in the pictures, the covered the hole behind the toilet bowl with isolating tape to not allow any other “unexpected visitors”||Words are useless. This hotel looks nice and clean at first sight, but has a couple of major issues that might prevent you from getting a good night's sleep... The rooms and the bathrooms are fairly large and very clean. Good quality towels and bedsheets, tasteful decorations, most appliances in good shape. If you come during the summer, the rooms will be very hot and stuffy. Sleeping without air-con is out of the question. However, I was given a room with a portable air-conditioner which turned out to be extremely noisy... To make things even worse, the spring mattress turned out to be in very poor shape - the springs were literally poking out... When I wanted to call and complain, I found there was no phone in the room... This first night was a nightmare - pun intended! In the morning I asked for another room. Surprise, surprise... I was given a much better room, cooler, with normal low-noise air-con (although it was hardly cooling the room), a phone and a balcony! However, the mattress was just as bad as in the first room. Conclusion: ask to see more than one room when you arrive and don't accept the first room you have been offered. Check all the appliances carefully... The staff are nice and polite, but somewhat clueless... I for one shall not be returning...

In june 2019 I spent one night on this hotel - room 103- traveling alone in a business trip.||The room didn't t have a proper, permanent AC unit. Instead a mobile AC unit was provided. This unit was terrible noisy and ineffective. In the evening the outside temperature was only 22C or 23C but the room was simply too hot too sleep in. Opening the window managed to bring down the temperature but I still couldn't sleep until midnight because on street noise.||The power plug was hidden by the bed.||The shower doors were almost to fall on my head and the small bath tub drain was clogged.||The breakfast was quite modest. ||The staff...
