This is certainly not a 3 stars hotel, it just doesn't look or feel like it! Yes, the rooms offer plenty of space and we were able to fit a portable cot and still feel comfortable but that's about it. You get decent Wi-Fi (ask the receptionist for the password) and they allow pets.||||However, although the hotel was recently opened, there was dirt under the bed and the bathroom vent was full of dust. There were ants on the rather narrow balcony. The bathroom socket did not work while the wall socket near the bed had a faulty wire that would short-circuit from time to time. The refrigerator and TV were plugged into an extension cord placed on top of the TV table. The refrigerator was really noisy and I had to unplug it overnight, it had a handle from another model screwed to the the door. The TV picture and colors looked like a low quality GIF. You have to ask the receptionist for the A/C remote and bring it back to them when you check out.||||The towels, although clean and often refreshed were worn down. The linens were stained with what looked like oil and wax. The glass covering a small table was chipped. The bed mattress was extremely hard. The rooms are far from being soundproofed, the windows have only one sheet of glass while the cheap wooden doors lacked gaskets.||||There is no service elevator. The cleaning staff were unaware of when the guests checked in or out, they would often catch their breath on the common area couches or int the lobby massage chair. The reception staff was almost always either missing or discussing business matters and their only concern at the end of our stay was if we drank the bottled water they had provided (at a cost). No "thank you", no "hope you had a great stay", no "come back soon", no nothing.||||The fire escape doors were locked, as in you'd need a key to open them and even if you did manage to break out and get downstairs, you'd find the exit fenced, locked and blocked by a bunch of...
Read moreFor fifth time in Hotel Lido, this time for 10 days. Same good opinion regarding positioning, beach, and prices. New furniture in rooms (not in all of them) but anyhow........nothing to complain about location and places nearby.|| But I must complain (maybe Hotel administrator read) the cleaning lady responsible for second floor (area with rooms in front of elevator). I asked her if is possible to have wash service for personal towels, she said yes without any problem for a fee negotiable; When bring them back and I paid 10 ron (price which I saw at reception after my discussion with her) she claim that is not enough because she take the towels at his home (I didn't ask that) and she used her personal expensive detergent and in her opinion 50 ron is the fair price. And we are talking about 3 medium towels. I got over it, 2 days later my daughter feel sick over night and threw up on bed linen. I announce at reception that we had a problem and same lady changed everything with old and torn linen. || Rude and greedy employees can ruin the image and work of others. The administrator will think twice when will hire staff next year. This cleaning lady is not new (I remember here from previous years) lives in Navodari, and have ~ 35 years maybe...
Read moreWe are coming at this hotel for more than 7 years, even two times per year, but this year they provided such a low service. The cleaning lady from the 5th floor was very unfriendly, was disturbing us every day around 8am. Two days in a row she didn't let all the towels in the room, and when I went to tell her this she was very defensive and even aggressive. Went to the receptionist for reporting the incident and she also laughed in my face, like I needed their towels, facing such a situation after so many years of accommodating there. In 10 days our sheets were never changed. You can have your own conclusion, but we will never return here, in these comunist conditions, where smiles and kind attitude are totally missing. Probably if we would have payed a tip, we would have been treated like kings, but this is a no go, when situations like this happen. Highly...
