Pensiunea Ioana*** — Hotel in Curtea de Argeș

With 2 friends we were going to the Danube Delta and we split the 900+ km ride from Timisoara in two legs - so we found this location in Curtea de Arges to have a good night sleep. ||And here are the findings: ||- location - on Negru Voda street - very quiet a few rooms guest house - very clean and very comfortable. Ideal for our needs. ||- prices - very pocket friendly - about 25-30 euro/night - I would say excellent. And you can pay with credit card. Reception is working till 20:00 so try to get there before that time. ||parking in the courtyard is limited to 3 spots - so it might be a challenge if the spots are taken already. ||- staff - very friendly and helpful. ||- no breakfast, we left very early, but I recon it is available upon request - but if you wanted a coffee it was available on spot. ||- room and bathroom - very clean ... really nothing to complain, all the amenities available ||And worth mentioning - if you dine at the restaurant "La Conac" - 500 m up the street form this spot - you get 10% discount. ||Overall a very nice spot - if you are not looking for luxury it can be a great stay for an overnight stop or even for 2-3 days if you decide to visit the area. ||I recommend you check it out if you need accommodation...

One of the worst experiences ever.

We booked through Booking two rooms with the possibility of paying when arriving (the agreed on time being between 15:00 and 20:00). Around 14:00 they cancelled our reservation without any explanation. After arriving (at ~15:30) at the location they have refused to offer us the price at which we booked through Booking (270 RON for two rooms) and asked us to pay more (300 RON). Our guess was the she way trying to avoid being fair and respecting her obligations towards both us and Booking (by not doing the transaction through Booking she charged us more money and also didn’t pay anything to Booking). Shame on you, Ioana!

However, it is not done yet! One of the rooms (for two people) was absolutely horrible! It was advertised as having AC, however it did not. It only had the little device which you can see in the picture which did not provide any help whatsoever. Good to mention that the temperature in this period is ~35 degrees. Besides that, the mattress is very uncomfortable and the walls are stained.

Spending a night in Curtea de Arges - revisiting this place I know for some years ... it was again a very good experience. ||Location - fairly close to the center and main street ... not more than 15-20 min walking. Parking in the courtyard for a few cars - more than enough for what we needed. ||Room and bathroom very clean ... by any standard very clean. Comfortable bed and due to the period of the year the heating was on - so it was very comfortable. ||Breakfast we did not need nor book since we were leaving very early in the morning. ||Service and payment easy and fast ... much faster than in many "big" hotels. ||Overall a very nice spot - even for more nights I can recommend.
