Red Lake Hotel — Hotel in Gheorgheni

Brand new hotel with very nice grounds.||Breakfast - the best we ever had in Romania, so delicious with lots of variety and local products. Would stay again just for this.||Room: comfortable, quite, great amnesties (mini fridge, storage space), good size, had a sitting space with a table, desk and a couch. We had a ground floor room facing the back, so view was of a brick wall. Did not bother us for a one day stay, but if I would stay longer, I would get an upper floor room with a view. Also higher floor rooms have balconies. ||Bathroom - big, nice design, comfortable, although ventilation system is not very efficient.||Parking - free, big.||Location - 5 min walk to the lake. ||Staff - nice, polite, eager to help.||Covid measures - great, felt safe, no people allowed at breakfast without mask, sanitizers everywhere. ||Restaurant - very good food, but limited menu options,...

This hotel wasn’t what we we’re expecting!! It was lovely. Our room had a balcony to sit out on. Which was needed once walking the lake !! Slippers if you need them. |It was very quiet in the evenings with no noise from the nearby car park,|The room had a coffee/tea machine with water and crisps free for the guests. Also a Tv on the wall,|The lift took you down to floor level, and just down past the fish ponds was the restaurant where breakfast was served. Breakfast was lovely with a selection of different foods, and hot /cold drinks.|A small walk from the hotel is the Red lake ( Lacu Rosa) worth seeing there was a small market near the lake which sold souvenirs and food. We were travelling south on a road trip around Romania and wanted somewhere half way between Gura Humorului and Brasov. Roads in this region are fairly slow so this proved to be a convenient halfway point three hours travelling time either side of both locations.|The hotel itself is surprisingly modern and contemporary. The rooms are spacious, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Breakfast and dinner are both taken in the adjoining restaurant and were both excellent.
