Unfortunately, my stay started off on the wrong foot. When I arrived, the staff member was asleep on the sofa in the reception area, which was set up like a bed with pillows and winter blankets. I felt sorry for her, but it didn’t make a great first impression. I had specifically requested a double bed but was given a twin room instead, which was another letdown. Arriving late at night, I was surprised to be asked to complete a detailed form myself—something I’ve never encountered in all my travels. It felt like stepping back in time. The room itself was extremely disappointing: old, outdated, and smelling of cigarettes. The curtains were very dirty, looking as though they hadn’t been washed in ages. The carpets were stained, and the chairs were also marked and unclean. The bed and pillows were far from comfortable, making it difficult to get any rest. To top it off, the hairdryer was broken, adding to the overall unpleasant experience. Thankfully, I only booked for one night; I couldn’t imagine staying longer. Based on this experience, I’m not sure I would consider this place again...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel years ago, when it was brand new, and used to be very pleasant. Except for the location, close to the center of the city, the minibar with refreshments, and the comfy beds, now, nothing looks the same! Everything looks old and unattended for years. The antique stile furniture shabby and degraded, carpets and wallpaper spotted and a dubious color. Bed sheets, though clean, looked like already used, the same as the bathroom towels! The bathroom has basic facilities, but a heavy smell from the drainage, so we couldn't keep the bathroom door open. The restaurant was closed. They only served breakfast in the former basement hall, with acces only from the outside of the hotel. Breakfast was poor and monotonous, and due to the not functioning fridges, the butter was almost melted, and the vegetables had an unpleasant taste that made them unbeatable. They served only one type of white, tasteless bread. It's definitely not a three star hotel at present, and much too overpriced for the...
Read moreLocation: The hotel is in the center of the city, but hidden from anything loud, which is GREAT if you want some relaxation. Unirii Square and Ștefan cel Mare street are within 3 minutes of walking. Parking: The hotel has several reserved parking spaces, so no issues with parking. Prices: From my pov the the cost/service ratio is good given the location and rooms Rooms: We stayed at the last floor (no other rooms were available), so the rooms were not as tall / big as on the other floors due to the roof structure, but it was ok. The reason why it gets 4* is because I am 2 m tall and 125 kg and the bed was small for me and my wife (she's 1.7 m and 60 kg).
Will recommend and when I return I'll choose a...
