I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel with my family (wife and 6 year old daughter). We saw it (from the outside) a few years ago while visiting Saturn and ever since we have promised ourselves that one day we will check-in here. ||As much I would like to write nicer about a hotel from my own country, this one has been a great disappointment for many, many reasons. ||So let's start with the good aspects....||The ladies from the reception desk were very kind and willing to help, they provided a room with a nice beach view, just as we asked them. ||The room was clean but rather small with card-access and relatively modern furniture and it had a balcony with an astonishing direct see view from the 10th floor.||Now, the not so good aspects...||We had to figure out how to set up the extra (extensible) bed for the child as the room was equipped for only two persons (towels, blankets, pillows etc.) although in our booking order we have specified clearly we are two adults with a 6-year old child. ||We were a bit shocked by their "old-fashion system" that provided paper tickets for pool entrance and breakfast. We haven't seen this since we were children in communist times. By the way, the white pool chairs were extremely dirty, but the water seemed clean.||The only meal we attempted to serve at the hotel was the (included) breakfast. I say we attempted because that breakfast was a sad joke that also resembled the old-times communist hotels, extremely poor and niggardly made. It was that bad that the second day we decided to skip it.||Another annoying aspect is the paid parking for hotel's customers. Anyway, it was not much for us as we just stayed for two nights. ||The elevators were the main reason of annoyance, as their software is extremely weird, causing unacceptable waiting times in front of the elevator door, especially at peek hours (eg. when everybody was going to the restaurant)||Another weird procedure for 2016 is that at check-out you must wait until the floor maid must confirm that nothing is missing from the room to the reception. It is true that until 26 years ago that used to be a normal practice in Romanian hotels... but, for God's sake, you have all my personal information should something be missing, couldn't you just send an invoice to the customer's postal address???!!! |I dear to say that this procedure is rather offending for the customer, suspecting that it might be a potential thief...||Me and my wife even developed a theory that in fact we are the problem, that we are not capable to appreciate the hotel's effort to recreate the communist '80, and these people are trying so hard to accomplish that...||It might be ok for older people that come to stay at this hotel with a state voucher, we don't know... but we will certainly not return...

Read moreThe only good aspect of booking a room in this hotel is that it is located close to the beach.
My room had only one power outlet, and it was placed in a very inconvenient spot. This made charging our phones quite difficult.
The elevators were out of order for our entire stay, refusing to come to our floor.
The worst part was when I tried to hold the elevator for some friends by putting my hand between the doors. The elevator closed and trapped my hand. I had to pull the doors apart to avoid being seriously injured.
I reported the incident at the hotel reception and asked a few questions about the elevator's condition. The receptionist had no logical explanation and didn’t apologize or indicate whether they would investigate the issue.
I am also concerned about the safety of the balconies. The support bar is positioned very low, and the entire balcony structure feels unstable, giving an uncomfortable sense of insecurity.
There was an unpleasant smell from the sewage system in the bathroom.
The refrigerator in the room did not cool and needed to be replaced. Additionally, when removing the room card that controls the electricity, the refrigerator also lost power.
Overall, it was not a good...
