Although the surrounding lake is beautiful, we were very disappointed with the accommodation. We were planning to spend a whole weak here, but got out of there after one night.||||The room we were given was minuscule, to put it mildly - I don't want to compare it with a storeroom, but it's not far from it. When we arrived, although it was close to midnight, it was overwhelmingly hot in the room. Since there was no air conditioning, we tried to open the window, to let some fresh air inside. However, because the window was lacking a net to keep the insects away, we had some unwanted guests after a couple of minutes - some butterflies and other insects were attracted by the light and heat and thought to keep us company for the night.||||The bathroom door was scratching the floor and made an infernal noise when opening and closing it. The bathroom was... claustrophobic. I bumped my head twice when brushing my teeth, because the ceiling is very low and at a 45 degrees inclination.||||The bed is enough for one person, but for two people is... "challenging". Me and my wife had a very tough time fitting inside this bed.||||So basically, this is a single room that is being sold as a double, at the same price as a bigger room, that has a view and a bigger bed.||||The next morning, when we went down for breakfast, I had another disappointment. The breakfast selection was very poor and the product quality also very low - some cheap salami and cheese, some tea and coffee and that's it. No juices, no water, nothing to quench your thirst. I am not very picky about breakfast and what they offered would have sufficed, but when I asked for water and they told me that I had to buy that from the bar (4 RON for a 0.33 litre bottle), that was the moment I felt I was being ripped off and decided it was time to leave that place in a hurry, before they charged us for breathing.||||When checking out, the receptionist, that doubled as a waitress also, was very nervous, I don't know exactly why, but she and the other staff seemed overworked and grumpy. I never felt so unwelcome and ripped off anywhere else.||||I know these are difficult times, I know it's hard for everyone, I get that. But that doesn't mean that I, as a tourist, must accept bad service or crap from anyone. I'm there to relax, to have a pleasant experience, not to be crowded in a closet that feels like a sauna during the night, not to be made to pay for every drop of water that I drink and not to have the sensation that I am disturbing the staff from other more important stuff. It wouldn't hurt if people smiled every now and then, to make the guests...
Read moreWe stayed with our dog in the apartment on the top floor. No elevator so you must be able to use the stairs to reach the room. Nice view from both sides of the room especially of the pond with people enjoying the paddle boats. Easy to stroll around the little village from hotel. Restaurant brought dinner up to the room and it was good. Breakfast of a cheese omelette and sides of tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese served with strong coffee was excellent! I recommend this pensiunea in Moneasa.||||Room could be a bit cleaner, the wifi didn't reach this high and the couch is not very comfortable however we enjoyed the extra space and had a good time...
