is ruining this charming establishment. The staff is unfriendly & unhelpful! All of them not just one or two. First thing that struck us after we parked in the evening was that there was no clear indication as to where to where the entrance was. Was it to the the left or to the right? After walking to the left we went right through a gate and walked down a dark path. Still no indication as to where the entrance was. We eventually went through doors to find ourselves not only inside a restaurant but restrooms to what looked like the back area of a restaurant. The restaurant staff just stared at us as we stood there with our luggage. We asked to get to check in. The reply was grumbled & we were pointed down some stairs. So we proceeded to go down the stairs with luggage in hand only to find ourselves in what looked like the basement and check in clerk was in a closet! ||||The clerk had the demeanor & appearance of an undertaker with a dangling cigarette from his mouth! And for some reason despite the three of us being the only ones checking in we were made to wait. What customarily is a quick process it took 15 minutes! Now keep in mind we had just driven 5 hours on a rainy night & just carried our luggage down a flight of stairs into a basement. The undertaker...oops I mean clerk...finally got around completing the process & requesting the cash payment upfront. He then told us he would take us to our rooms. Up the same stairs we just came down from stairs, we go now we go up! We continue to walk pass the restaurant doors & are led down a darkly lit slippery path since it was raining. The first room was assigned to our guest & the clerk walked inside with him & showed him how to use the TV (Hmmm...like he needed to be shown?) Then we were told that our room was upstairs on the second floor. Now more steps!!! When we got to the top of the stairs the clerk pushes pass me almost knocking me down the stairs & says he's got the wrong room key & needs to go back for them. As we waited we could smell the nasty odor of cat urine or spray in the area! He later returns & we go through same routine about the TV. Yikes!||||Since it was raining we chose to eat at the restaurant there. We walked in & again as before we were ignored. When wen we asked where could we sit we were just told to seat ourselves where ever we wanted. The place was nicely decorated & very charming. The menu also seemed enticing & offered a lot to choose from. Unfortunately we were made to wait to the point that we had to prompt that a waiter come to please take our order. Seems the other patrons were also waiting to be served since no one was eating. ||||After finally placing our order we waited again for drinks to arrive. When they did arrive one of the food dishes ordered was also brought out!! Causing the person who had ordered it let is sit there & get cold since she didn't want to be rude & start eating without the rest. So we waited & waited & waited. Finally the rest of the food order arrived. But incomplete!!! We brought it to our waiter's attention but a moment later someone else came back with the WRONG item requested!!! The additional insult was that the item was later charged on our bill! Throughout our meal as well other patrons were ignored! Eye contact was avoided by all wait staff & feigned not hearing being called over. Finally assertively I got the waiter's attention & asked for the bill.||||In the morning the breakfast order was taken & served by a brutish surly male who we remembered seeing the night before & looked more like a bouncer than a waiter. In fact, he had thug clothes on! He exuded a very bad almost arrogant attitude & full of disdain. We tried to engage him small talk by asking him if there was a short cut to the airport. But to no avail. We received only a curt reply. ||||Again I want to stress that the restaurant & rooms were charming & relatively clean. But the staff...

This motel although located close to airport (600 meters) isn't oriented on transit passengers, rather on cosy restaurant customers and weddings with loud music and dancing. Unfortunately, there is no much of choice there. They provide free transfer only on one way, so be ready to walk 600 meters on uneven walkway and cross over the high metal bridge or take taxi for couple of miles around. Room is basic for 2 star motel with tight shower and annoying automatic water tap, with no shampoo. Bed and cleanliness are good, noisy expressway isn't heard with window completely shut. Breakfast is very poor, restaurant menu is abundant, not necessarily cheap, waiters and managers are indifferent and sometimes rude (this is normal and "cultural" in Romania). Soups, salads and main meals might be served simultaneously (this is a heritage of their past Socialist history of community eateries). Credit machines don't work consistently, get ready to pay by debit Visa or cash, reception is impossible to find if you don't ask gloomy staff and it is a basement storage booth with gloomy but good nature character in it who hardly speaks English (get ready to know a bit Italian or Spanish). Surrounding area is dead in terms of basic...

Having read other reviews I wanted to share my personal experience of this Restaurant. Last night my Wife and I came for dinner and had a wonderful meal. Great family atmosphere, excellent service, lovely live music and great surroundings. The restaurant did not disappoint with the food, which was delicious and served in a timely manner, which, considering how busy it was, was a credit to the chefs and serving staff. Today, we have returned with our family for a late afternoon lunch before flying home this evening. Again, no disappointment!!! Our server was Bogdan who is a delightful young man. His English was excellent and he guided us through the menu making excellent suggestions. As I sit here now, I can honelstly say it was another wonderful meal, reasonably priced and served in 20 mins as advised by Bogdan. Drinks are very reasonable priced and I recommend Bucur beer with the grilled meats. The Butcher platter is fantastic with a good selection of fare from the grill. Nice atmosphere, no rush and relaxed and I just pity I am leaving this evening and will miss another meal here. Highly recommended authentic food and I guarantee this will not disappoint. Thanks again to Bogdan for a...

Really nice restaurant with traditional Romanian food. We dined here three times and it was really good and fresh. The only exception was when we ordered one of the fish mains which was a little overcooked and possibly not fresh, but the rest has consistently been impeccable. The service is great and so is the ambience, with a lot of traditional Romanian decorations, it felt cozy. When it's good weather, you will see flies flying around your food a lot, but it can't really be avoided, unless you perhaps sit next to a ventilator. Another big plus is that it's a walkable distance from the airport. The location is just by a very trafficked road, but it's barely noticeable while inside the restaurant. Overall a really good choice if you want to try traditional Romanian food, you've come to the right place.

Food was a bit bland and unsalted (had to throw a fist full of salt into the Ciorba de Burta). Service was thoughtful and kind, but a bit too busy with other tables. Wine wasn’t chilled enough and not everything on the menu could be ordered (non-beverage). They didn’t have a good selection of Demi-Sweet white wine, for which Romania is actually known for (trying to appeal to wanna-be wine Connaisseurs by serving dry white wine). We had to ask 3 times for the volume of the system (which was amplifying the live performance) to be turned down a bit. It‘s no exaggeration to say that we couldn’t hear ourselves speak, let alone anyone else. Great band and music though. Great setting and architecture, good parking space and the portions of the food were just right.

Super authentic, great energy, food and price! The hotel and restaurant are both super authentic and aesthetic and you get a huge dose of Romanian culture after barely leaving the airport. The walk from the arrivals to the hotel is around 15 minutes and super chill. My room was very tidy, traditional and spacious. The AC works perfectly, one can hear the street but it’s not that bad with windows closed. The restaurant was amazing, I went for a traditional romanian soup and dessert and both were delivered super fast! And that on a Friday night. The stay and food are definitely worth their price. The personnel was also super friendly and accommodating (coming from Western Europe I haven’t experienced this quality of service in years).
