Hotel Oxigen — Hotel in Petroșani

This is the only hotel I recommend in downtown Petrosani. It is modern, clean, non-smoking. We had a standard room on level 2, which is around EU50 (RON 190) and is spacious enough, with a small fridge and air con unit, which you normally don't need in Petrosani as it is never too hot in this mountain town. The budget rooms on level 3 are too small and windowless (they have small windows in the ceiling). There is also a superior room, which is larger and has a seating sofa. The bathroom was clean and it has a shower cabin with jets. The bedding was excellent and had pleasant soft fabrics. The bathroom towels however were very rough, may need softener. The hotel is positioned on the main road and it has convenient parking at the front, shared with a supermarket. It is not an especially quiet or picturesque location, but with windows closed you can have a good sleep. Also nearby are the excellent Keops restaurant by the lake with an outdoors swimming pool at the back, a medical centre and the hospital (avoid at all cost as hospitals in Romania are death traps - make sure you have travel insurance that will evacuate you to a Western country in case of serious medical problem). The hotel is 5 minutes by taxi from the railwaystation and 30 min by taxi from the chair lifts that take you to the ski slopes. Taxis are very cheap! Contrary to expectations, there is no Airport in Petrosani, despite the so called nearby suburb and the vintage airplane on display. Breakfast was included, buffet style, and although not extremely varied, was adequate and good quality. The breakfast room on levek 1 has a beautiful ambience. Reception Staff was friendly polite and helpful, happy to assist with information about road conditions and directions. Reception however did not have access to supplies, when asked for extra glasses or toiletries in the evening, could not be supplied until the next day. Kitchen staff also very happy to meet special requirements, eg poached egg insteaf of fried egg, or lettuce. Normally available were yogurt, 2 cheeses, 2 salami or ham, fried eggs, fries sausages, tomatoes, olives, cereal, milk, tea and coffee, juice, etc. On the downside: all rooms are upstairs on levels 2 and 3 and there is no lift, and I carried the heavvy luggage upstairs by myself, staff did not jump to help, so you may need to ask for help if you need, I am sure they will oblige. But this is only a mini hotel, with only one person at reception, which closes (locks) at 11 or 12 pm, make sure to make inquiries /arrangements if you need to enter...

Stați departe de acest "hotel" Pățania mea cu managerul acestui loc mi.a lăsat un gust amar NU RECOMAND ȘEDEREA NIMANUI ÎNTR.UN HOTEL CONDUS DE UN OM FĂRĂ CEI 7 ANI DE ACASA SI FĂRĂ PIC DE CUNOȘTINȚE IN CONVORBIRILE SI LUCRUL CU CLIENȚII DE PE URMA CĂRORA ÎȘI INCASEAZA SALARIUL NEMERITAT. Mizeria crasă din camere. Am schimbat 3 camere în 2 ore Frigul din camere, pt că este obligația clientului sa își dea singur drumul la căldură cînd ajunge, deși rezervarea și plata erau facute cu 24 ore înainte....Nesimțirea managerului în convorbirile telefonice cu clienții care au neobrazarea de a avea pretenția ca patul să fie curat, cu perne îmbrăcate și lipsite de fire de păr de la alți clienți, cu băi sparte, lipite de ai impresia ca e o vietate moartă în cadă, cu pipi în wc.ul urmatoarei camere primite și cu insultele managerului care mi.a șoptit suav...SINTETI IMPOSIBILA...doar pt ca am îndrăznit sa cer pt banii dați, O CAMERĂ INGIENIZATĂ și cu căldură....

Si la intrebarea dacă putem servi micul dejun contracost, raspunsul a fost...sînt prea puține camere ocupate ca să facem mic dejun si restaurantul e inchis pt că nu avem clienți destui. ...Am poze referitor la curățenia din camere.... Nu e normal să vină recepționera de noapte, o DOAMNĂ în adevăratul sens al cuvântului...și să își ceara scuze în numele acestui specimen fără școală în managementul hotelier. Unde v.ați făcut stimabile facultatea de manager hotelier? Unde v.ați trăit cei 7 ani de.acasă? Pentru cultura dvs generala. INSUPORTABILA din aceasra seară, exact această facultate care vă lipsește dvs a făcut.o😉 Plus vreo 35 ani de călătorii prin vreo câteva zeci de mii de hoteluri Unde lucrează manageri cu școală și amabilitate.... si care știu cum să.și mențină clienții mulțumiți și staff.ul bine pregătit și urmărit să nu facă greșelile pe care le.am găsit în acest hotel. În atenția patronilor acestui HOTEL Schimbați.vă managerul că vă duce hotelul la faliment...

Rather low quality in general.

There is hot water only in the evenings.

They don’t have any trash cans, so you have to use the ones in the supermarket or anywhere else.

Toilet paper is sometimes missing.

The reception is always empty and no one is there.

The rooms don’t have curtains, and even if they do, it’s impossible to close.

Breakfast is also low quality but eatable.

There is no lobby, and absolutely not any services.

WiFi is useless because way too slow.

There is a community area on the first floor.

At least not particularly dirty, they are kind...
