Attention, long story incoming! I have stayed at City hotel several times in the past 2 years. Overall, the location I OK, close to the center and the rooms are very spacious. Underground parking is available (if you don't arrive late) , this comes in handy on the torrid summer days and freezing winter nights. În the last months I see the state of the hotel deteriorating, getting "tired" and the staff keeps getting younger with less and less people skills. Glassware is being substituted for single use plastic, the TV doesn't work is some rooms, the gym is out of order, the breakfast buffet is less and less enjoyable. Service quality is plummeting. Fixtures in the bathroom/shower are starting to degrade. My last 2 stays were a total fiasco, AC not working (efficiently? ) - The rooms on the 3rd floor are super hot. 1st and 2nd floor is better but still warm.
My previous stay was marked by a dirty plastic cup used as an ashtray, filled with buds (non smoking rooms) waiting for me on the side of my bed at the time of my arrival. Obviously, I informed reception and went out for dinner (No on site restaurant) Upon my return, the "ashtray" was still there. Nobody bothered to remove it, not even an apology was said. Both receptionists started blaming their other colleagues. Today I find the cleaners bottle on the bed, as per picture. I think this was my last stay here. For the same money, you get much much more at Marida...
Read moreThere were countless aspects that I thoroughly enjoyed during my stay, making it difficult to narrow them down! First and foremost, I must express my utmost appreciation for the entire hotel staff. Each member left a lasting impression on me, but I would like to extend a special mention to Atlanta, a young lady brimming with enthusiasm, who provided invaluable assistance throughout my stay. Monika, another remarkable individual, exuded warmth and friendliness towards me, making my experience even more delightful. Additionally, I cannot forget to mention Mariana, the breakfast attendant, whose interactions with locals, despite my limited Romanian language skills, conveyed her genuine passion for her job through her tone of voice and body language. The location of the hotel was truly exceptional, tucked away just a few hundred meters from the bustling main street. This allowed for a peaceful and serene atmosphere, providing a welcome escape from the scorching heat. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, offering a much-needed respite. The tranquility and quietness of the surroundings were a true luxury, ensuring a restful stay. Overall, my experience at the hotel was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the outstanding staff, ideal location, and comfortable...
Read moreStayed here for one night with three collegues. Booked by my company. Arrived mid evening took a taxi and no too long to get to the hotel. Taxi did not take credit cards, took 20 dollars, about double the real price. Checked online, it seems the hotel has 4 stars. After checking in told the hotel did not have a restaurant. We were surprised a 4 star hotel did not have a restaurant. Advised by the receptionist we might get some food nearby, but as it was a Sunday night we might not, We found a bar nearby and after checking if they took credit cards stayed for a good feed. When paying the bill told did not take credit cards. We had enough cash in Stirling to pay the bill, just. Back to the hotel and a good nights sleep. A good breakfast in the morning and back to the airport and back to work The taxi was 10 euros, about the right fare this time. The hotel staff all spoke good English and the hotel and rooms were adequate. This is a transit hotel so would not like to stay longer than one night. It would seem away from the hotel credit cards are not so common, or perhaps they just...
