Hotel Poesis — Hotel in Satu Mare

A colleague of mine and I took part at a conference in Satu Mare so we booked a twin room 4 months ago. We wanted to pay with vacation tickets . The receptionist said it was ok,but he didn't mention what kind of tickets were agreed. So,when we wanted to check in,our vacation tickets weren't accepted. On the other hand, the receptionist offered us a room with king size bed. We didn't accepted so the alternative was a room located outside the hotel,around the corner. We stayed 4 nights and during this days the room wasn't cleaned at all and the towels weren't changed. Because the breakfast is served from 9 to 11 during week ends, we didn't have breakfast . At the conference we took part at some trips and we had to leave the hotel at 7 AM. The services are lower than the 4 stars standards and the personel have a lack of hospitality and kindness. When se booked the room,the price was 260 lei per night per room and at the check in the receptionist asked 285 lei per night per room. It was a horrible experience! I know the standards for a 4 stars hotel but at the Poesis Hotel the services looked like we stayed at 2...

The place is quite nice, although the lacquer finishes didn't do justice to the antique architraves (it was used the kind of uninspired lacquer that gives the impression of plastic at the touch). The place feels a bit outdated (the ventilation in the bathroom wasn't working for example). The furniture is antique with amazing details and a great state of conservation. The venue has a nice looking restaurant which was unfortunately closed (Sunday evening). The overall sensation is that you travelled back in time at least a century. The modern lockings at the doors (a bit too vocal for my taste) somehow fit quite well within the environment. The hotel has some front parking spaces and a great looking interior courtyard, containing a patio. The location itself is somehow awkward to reach due to the many traffic restrictions in that zone. Facile da raggiungere una volta attraversato il fiume, a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro.||Abbiamo avuto una bella e particolare stanza alla mansarda, che si raggiunge con un ascensore fino al primo piano e poi con le scale fino su, dunque da evitare di portare bagagli pesanti ed ingombranti se si alloggia al secondo piano/mansarda. Si può richiedere il facchinaggio dal parcheggio riservato, ubicato davanti all'albergo dotato di video sorveglianza, fino alla stanza. L'entrata per la reception è la seconda, segnalata, altrimenti le scale della prima porta portano direttamente al primo piano. La scelta di mantenere la scala originale della villa è ottima. ||Siamo rimasti contenti di aver scelto quest'antica villa ristrutturata per il suo aspetto, sevizi e rapporto qualità/prezzo.||Abbiamo soggiornato per una notte, di sabato, giorno per definizione per i matrimoni in Romania. Infatti anche qui era organizzato un matrimonio ma il responsabile della struttura ha accettato la nostra prenotazione per la cena e non siamo stati serviti in ritardo a causa del matrimonio che si svolgeva nei locali all'interno. Pensavamo di non poter riposare bene durante la notte visto la musica ad alto volume ma al secondo piano non si sentiva nulla, purtroppo si sentivano in lontananza e attutiti dalle finestre insonorizzate, i bassi di un'altra struttura/ discoteca. Il bagno è grande con la doccia idromassaggio. Il televisore al plasma e minibar rifornito. Segnale wi-fi gratuito, ottimo.||Per la prima colazione il servizio è a tavolo e non a buffet. Ottimo il cappuccino e se volete qualcos'altro che non è riportato sul foglietto da riempire al momento del check-in si può avere. Per esempio ho chiesto un uovo sodo non a frittata. Purtroppo sul foglietto non c'è la frutta fresca di stagione, locale, ma solo le arance. Probabilmente un piccolo buffet perlomeno con le bevande e la frutta fresca sarebbe meglio. Con la globalizzazione ci aspettiamo in tutti gli alberghi di trovare oramai il buffet ed il servizio al tavolo ci disorienta. ||Il personale della reception e del ristorante è simpatico e disponibile. ||Bella la terrazza dove si può cenare e prendere la prima colazione.||A cena abbiamo preso 2 ciorba di trippa, 1 cacciocavallo panato, una porzione di spiedini di manzo con legumi, una porzione di pesce persico, una bottiglia di acqua e una bottiglia di vino rosso, tutto 180RON.
