Pensiunea Restaurant Korona — Hotel in Sibiu

We've just been here...||Even if the building itself promised a lot and our expectations were quite big, this stay was a real dissapointment.||We've done a little compromise by booking an accommodation far from the center of Sibiu, hoping we'll be in a quiet and still place, at a better price. Friday night was silent, Saturday night was... St. Nicholas party with loud music late in the night. It finished around 1 in the morning. The soundproofing does not exist at all. You hear even the neighbours when talking in their room as they are near you.||Except this, the cleanliness was not the best, the toilet was full of urine drops, the sink was leaking over our legs, the bed was full of hair and the size quite small. The room was also small.||I totally disliked the excess of economy: lights turned off in the restaurant above our table ( and we couldn't move to another one because this one was the only one prepared). When requesting the light, the only possible way of doing this was to switch off the light in the food zone. Awful! The cleaning lady... Instead of entering our room and checking what we need, was asking us one by one if we need her to enter our room, if we have garbage, so on... It's a pity... The place is quite nicely decorated and it's really a pity that there are these issues...||I'm concerned on recommending...

I recomand this restaurant for many reasons. One of them would be the old stile look of the inside, with space enough between the (very clean!) tables: not to much to feel isolated, not to close to feel claustrophobic. Well-mannered, clean dressed waiters, good choice of drinks and dishes, tasty food... Proper surrounding music, clean and well maintained restrooms. Before we had the chance to have a meal at a different restaurant - Casa Frida - close to the Big Square in Sibiu, and were rather unimpressed. Specially when we wanted to use the toilets...they looked and feel like those in a busy pub on a Friday night in London. This been said, we would choose Korona every time over other "better known" restaurants in...

We came here to dine and the food was quite good, not amazing but it was worth the price. HOWEVER, they like to do a very sneaky scam where they will say the price per 100g but will serve you 3 to 4 tumes that amount. The portions are enormous and never just 100g which means your price on menu will tripple or quadruple. I only give 3 stars instead of 1 because the manager took the food we didnt eat back and cut the price to what we actually were able to eat. Still, the food was overly portioned and way beyond normal consumption, we paid a total of 214 lei for 2 people. Its pretty pricy and heavy for a medium sized man and...
