I am fairly disappointed with the quality of the hotel and the service received here. If I could give zero starts I would. Firstly, the bed had the most uncomfortable mattress from the ages of knights and dragons. Secondly the TV in the room was a brick of Nokia that would have probably survived perfectly a fall from the fourth floor. Thirdly, the plug from the bathroom did not work. Alright, seems like I have to many negatives to list, so I’ll make a list to add the remaining: A plug in the bedroom a serious safety hazard, The shower taps almost falling off The handles from the bathroom fell once The toilet sit wobbly The fridge in the room not working The fan in the room only working in a specific setting The anti mosquito screen had holes in it The couch was more uncomfortable than the floor, literally some leather covering a sketch of a chair. The dirtiest floor carpet that I have ever seen, probably never washed. Shower pressure absolutely awful. Towels provided had yellow large stains on them. No kettle and/or tea in the room. No information for Wi-Fi or emergency services in the room. The lights on the hallway would turn on with a serious delay, after sunset the hallways were pitch black.
About the service: The cleaners would some days come and some days not. Even when the cleaners came they wouldn’t even hoover or clean the sink, or change the towels when the towels were on the floor. I booked a room for 8 nights and I was only provided with one very small bottle of shower gel. I asked the receptionist for an iron for ironing and she had no idea what I was talking about- keep in mind I spoke using the local language. In my last night my door was forced.
I don’t recommend this place unless you want to experience being in a hotel that can easily be the star of a good...
Read moreDon’t believe some of the reports this hotel is terrible and dirty and is not suitable for tourism. We stayed for 20 minutes and that was 19 minuets too long!||The rooms (510 & 511) had dirty stained carpets and ceilings the furniture and bed were old, damaged and very shabby and the shower tray was chipped. The bed was unmade and covered with an ancient quilt. We discovered like some of your previous reports that a duvet cover was in the wardrobe and bed making is your responsibility and that the rooms had not been refurbished for many years. In the hotels defence the bedding and towels were clean and the receptionist was helpful and...
Read moreI cannot remember the reasons for choosing to stay in the Hotel Egreta. We arrived at 2100 and were given a room on the 7th floor by the nice receptionist. The lifts worked. The room looked tired with old fashioned furniture. There was a cigarette burn on the bedcover and some stains on the carpet. The air conditioning did not seem to work, and the room was hot overnight. The breakfast, which was included, was basic but OK. The price was very cheap and it the hotel was located close to the waterfront promenade (and the ferry) and two supermarkets in which to buy provisions (and wine)...
