Hotel Insula — Hotel in Tulcea

I was there for 4 nights since May 30 until June 3rd. The hotel is right next to the train station and onto a small island on the lake and a good 20 minutes walk to the town centre. The location it's quite picturesque, there are a lot of flowers and also a swing. When I booked I asked for a double room. When I got there they said the double rooms face the street, and I said it's alright. The room was on the ground floor facing the parking lot, and it was a good size. The next day coming from town I heard the lady at the reception saying to a new customer the double rooms face the lake...||Entering my room I noticed that the only thing the cleaning staff did was emptying the trash, no making the bed, no vacuuming.||For the next days I don't think anyone came inside my room because the trash kept piling in the bin, and after it was full around the bin.||I can't say anything about the breakfast because they weren't yet allowed to serve it, but one could have it...

Not that breakfast is everything but it wasn't really acceptable for a bed and breakfast type hotel stay where breakfast is an important feature. ||It was not a buffet style so we chose from the menu which was not the most extensive and we chose two options from 6 available... both of which were questionable. The bread was stale and hard. The cereal was tasteless and came with a separate bowl of hot milk (!). The continental menu was dubious - about 5 slices of processed meat, some tomatoes and a ball of fried cheese. Mum said the cheese was plasticky and tasted of rubber. Had to pay for extra coffees to wash it down but mostly left the breakfast uneaten as not particularly edible. ||Aside from breakfast, the rooms were clean and pleasant and reasonably comfortable beds. The air con is a little on the old side and so very noisy and takes a while to kick in - recommend ear plugs if you want a cool room but a good sleep. ||Lovely location and pretty...

Be carefull with choosing this restaurant at Hotel Insula, don’t go to this restaurant!! There is a terrible waiter, his name is Florii. He is not friendly! We ordered some food, but when the food was served,the french fries were cold; very (!) cold. So we told that to the waiter (Florii). He only said: so what and shrugged his shoulders. That was not normal behavior and I told him that friendly, but he wouldn’t listen to us.. ! After dinner we had to pay, at the counter: the only thing he said was: cash or card and he was aggressivev in his words to us! My advise to you all; don’t go to this...
