Hotel Bradul — Hotel in Vatra Dornei

Vatra Dornei was on our 12 days tour ride route, and we booked the Bradul Hotel for 1 night after reading the few reviews on TripAdvisor. On arrival, we got a detailed explanation about the pool and breakfast hours (very short), and got the key to our room.||The room was made of a bedroom and a living room old style, two bathrooms, 2 TV's with many English speaking channels and a refrigerator. No air conditioning. There were 2 balconies facing the park.||When stepping into the balconies, you can see that the building is actually deteriorating, no maintenance.||There was no hair drier, and when my wife went down to the front desk to ask about it, she was told that the hotel has only one, and she might get it later (never happened).||Morning came, and no hot water in the tabs, even though we ran them for a few minutes. We decided to skip showers and on our way to breakfast asked, and were told that hot water are available between 0730 - 1130 in the morning only, and you need to run the tabs for at least 30 minutes !!! No one bothered to let us know that on check in.||Breakfast was modest.||We checked out and asked that the manager will contact us when he arrives later on, but no one bothered.||What a...

We spent the New Year Holidays with a group of friends at this hotel and were pleasantly impressed: the hotel is very comfortable, nice rooms, good bathrooms, the overall design is simple but with a lot of good taste. Although 3 stars hotel, it is as nice as a 4 stars, including the pool, Jacuzzi and sauna areas. Also, the hotel location is very good, both for ski lovers and for people who just want to enjoy the beauty of the Bucovina winter.||The dining room is nice and the cooks are very good, the food was excellent on all occasions. In the holidays package we had two parties, New Year and Carnival – and both were a success: nice decorations, good music, all the dishes served were at the level of a very good restaurant. They also invited one of the greatest stars of Romanian folk song (Sofia Vicoveanca), who was part of the New Year entertainment. ||The staff is a little slow and not very fluent in English, however very kind and always willing to serve and help.||I would also like to mention the local bus company “Sincarom” with whom we got from Iasi to Vatra Dornei in private bus; we also hired from them a minibus and local guide for a daylong trip around Bucovina. I returned to this location, but I chose a superior room hoping it would be a bit better; I stayed for a weekend. We chose a superior room, consisting of two rooms with two bathrooms. Unfortunately, both bathrooms did not pass the UV lamp test (traces of urine around the toilet bowl), so I was forced to use two liters of sanitary alcohol for bath disinfection. Skirts with visible traces of dirt. In one of the rooms there was a very unstable high lamp (which was also overturned by breaking the lampshade); I announced the incident at the reception but no one came to clean the room (normally I paid for this incident). What if a child was in the room ???? The rooms were with the thermostat on the radiator in the open position and I set the temperature in the room opening the door to the balcony. Good cosmetic products for a 1 * hotel. The first night we waited about an hour to warm up the water and take a shower. The room was with access to the pool, but I quit swimming because it was the dirtiest pool seen in my life (very cloudy water and a tough smell).
