The rooms are OK from a size point of view and beds quite confy. The soundproofing is OK, but only from my point of view - I live in a urban area, and yes, you can hear the cars from DN1.
There are some minuses: some of the door knobs have outlived their lives(eq: if you need to go during the night - 3-4 rooms if not 1-2 floors will hear the turning of the knob). carpets everywhere, not a big fan, and some seems to show age. the free parking is quite difficult if you don't have 4x4 on your car - there are some parking spots on the entrance lvl of the Hotel, but they are the first to go, and the only ones left are the ones where you have to go up a slope - as said before, if you don't have 4x4 and it snowed, I don't recommend attempting to go up without winter chains on the traction wheels. included breakfast - 2 words describes it perfectly "Romanian style" (and I am Romaninan... and disapprove on this type of service...) - missing items, the girls are helpful and assist you whenever you need, but it's not the best ideea for a "Swedish buffet breakfast" (sry for the spelling) for basic items to be missing (water and ... heated milk 4 the kids - also, there is no option for plain cold water...), otherwise it's OK from my point of view... be careful with the reception staff - some are very helpful, but some you have to carefully explain to them that you are actually requesting help from them, otherwise the person in question will expect that you will solve it on your own - this is less than what should be expected from a...
Read moreRight on the main route one from Bucharest with lorries going past a few inches from the rooms 24/7 making sleep Impossible. Hotel had been expanded several times but not the dining area which was congested and far too small for the number of rooms in the hotel. The evening buffet and breakfast buffet were unappetising. The room door had about a four inch gap between the bottom of the door and the floor making that you heard everything said in the corridor. Miniscule bathroom where you had to squeeze past the basin to get to the toilet. Soap dispensers by basin which had no plug and in the shower. No heating in room and the chambermaid left the window open every day despite the temperature outside being only two degrees. You had to have your outdoor coat on if you wanted to sit in the room as it was so cold. the bathroom was so cold you did not really want to take a shower. No potatoes and no cooked vegetables any evening. On the Sunday we had to go and eat elsewhere as no food was being served. It seems the Romanians do not eat pasta or potatoes or cooked vegetables. Only ever rice, rice and more rice without any sauce making it completely unpalatable. There was a small salad bar for the women. Deserts were cakes which were completely black and burnt.ie this was the hotel from hell. I would not wish this hotel on my worst enemy. Very difficult to get an internet connection and it kept dropping out. The reception area had loud pop noise blaring out so no one in their right mind would want to spend...
Read moreStayed here 3 nights in total. First 2 nights the hotel was close to fully booked. I had a room on the 5th floor, double bed which was hard with springs poking through. Room itself was ok. Bathroom was basic with a window without anything to cover it. Second room was way better, bigger, lighter and newer. Single beds that were comfortabel. Nice clean bathroom, good shower. Desk, minibar, comfy chair. Wifi was good. Dinner was ok but basic and not a lot of variation. Breakfast was ok as well but the bread was a bit old most of the time. Good coffee, yoghurt with cereal, baked, scrambled and boiled eggs. Bar closed at 9pm so very early. Staff was ok. It said there was a gym but it was not there. Nice little town with a 24/7 shop very nearby. View from the first...
