The location is good. You can go for a walk to the chalet "Trei Brazi" (three firs) in one hour and a half (very slow walk - about 4 km). You can even take your car, is a good road, but you can see and enjoy better the view and the silence walking all the way to the top. The food was good, not excellent as I expected from a 4 star hotel, but it was ok. BUT, the waiters were not paying attention at all at the customers. We had a party and on the big tables were 4 or 6 wine bottles. We asked for a rosé wine, and others for a red one. After the waitress put some wine in our glasses, she took all the others bottles of wine that were not open, leaving us with the two open bottles from which she was serving us. And she never brought us back any bottle of wine, not even when the other bottles were finished.. That is what a 4 star hotel does to his customers? Oh, and in the morning, the waiters were even revolted because a woman asked them to bring her a coffee. They were talking out-loud between each other that the women should get the coffee by her-self, not to ask them, because there was a coffee machine. They didn't think not even for a second that the poor woman didn't know how to handle the coffee machine. The services were not good at all. Not that clean in the rooms, a very small roll of toilet paper... We arrived in the afternoon. The next day we finished the toilet paper and nobody came to put some back.. not even the third day.. the trash was not cleaned at all, the towels were not changed at all.. Some friends of ours called at reception to bring them some toilet paper and they gave tip to the maid.. At the check-out, we had to wait a lot so they could call the maids to check the rooms to see if were ok. I was in may hotels in Romania (with 2-3-4 stars) and none of them were like that. The hotel is nice, with a great view and excellent placement, the food is ok, but the personal id awful. For those 4 stars they have, everything should...
Read moreCleaness: bath robes where wet. We checked one and there was an used COVID mask in one of its pockets. We called Reception for a replacement. 20min later we called again as no one came. Another 20min passed and finally someone came with replacements.
Noise: during the night there was a very noisy neighbors in room 405 that where smashing doors and yelling. We called the Reception at 3AM as we could not get any sleep. No answer over the telephone. Tried again at 4AM. And again at 5AM, still no answer. I went downstairs and the security guard was sleeping on the couch while the receptionist was like "I saw you calling but had things to do"... Excuse me?? What where those "important" things except answering the phone for.tge customers? Anyways out first night was a "white" night, could not get any sleep in Hotel Orizont of, suposely, 4 stare (this was the night from 30 to 31st of Dec)
Food: average Entertainment: average (for the price we'ce paid of aprox 100 eur/night)
Facilities: the shower head is broken and the water spills on top of it. You may want to check it
The third night, from 1st of Jan to 2nd of Jan: same thing happened with the same room - people yelling and smashing the doors... The last night was again, a "white" night, could not get any sleep. Obviously the Reception did nothing to move the loudly guests in other part of the hotel.
Conclusion: I don't normally expose over the net such bad experiences, but this hotel proved to be one of the worst. After all, if you can't get any sleep then...what is the main purpose of a hotel??
So sad to give only one star as the staff in the Spa and Restaurant was very attentive and polite. But the Reception is a disaster. For the price paid, I strongly do not...
Read moreBefore reading this review, I must say that it's a very rear of me to write a negative review, maybe me or the hotel were out of luck this time. Not everything is bad, but it was bad enough to add this review...
I'll start with the good stuff: It really is on top of a mountain and the location is ok.
There is a spa at the -1 level with jacuzzis, training room and even a pool.
Every staff member that I've met was extra nice.
Now to the negative: The air conditioner (at least at this time of the year, mid April) is still on heating mode, AND IT CAN'T BE TURNED OFF. I was boiling in the room. Even when trying to move the thermostat to around 12 or even turning it off - hot air kept coming out.
The bathroom's water stream is fine, but the shower head was clogged up, so not enough water was coming out of it.
The wifi connection really is bad. Both disconnecting every 10 minutes and the speed is extra slow - and I am using two devices with wifi 7 - see the attached pictures.
The minibar (miji refrigerator) is stuck in a closet and gets really hot. I had to open the door so it would breath and stop making noises.
As someone who wanted to have a nice evening and enjoy my stay at the hotel... I must say that I'm disappointed. I would've given even lower score, but the spa and the breakfast were great enough to cover it.
Luckily I've stayed for just one night... otherwise I would've asked for a refund. My bad for not contacting the receptionist, but I was too tired to...
