Don't stop here! We booked this accommodation option for May 2021 on a website with Booking and it was called: "Russian hut with a bath" in the city center overlooking the river, but in fact we were placed at 71 Vspolye boulevard. Please note that this address is on the map on the outskirts of the city and is called Insuzdal, and from the windows the view of the cemetery is obvious. After 100% prepayment, communication with Vladimir by phone ends and the arrows are transferred to Oleg from Insuzdal by phone. Yes, Vladimir said earlier that the double room, which was booked on Booking, is for some unknown reason on some boulevard Vspolye, 71, but Booking's website indicates that all rooms are located at Gastev, 34 - in the very center, and not on the outskirts overlooking the cemetery. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that there are not even photographs of a house with a double number on Booking. There is a photo of the room, and the photo of the house is given for the hut, which misleads guests and tourists. After posting a review, the hosts send a boorish response to WhatsApp. Moreover, on the Booking website there is a boorish manner and treatment of deceived guests: "You have chosen the wrong room category", "Your place in the hostel." Perhaps I needed before the prepayment (the prepayment was reported exactly on the day when free cancellation is already impossible) to familiarize myself with the cards and understand that on the Booking website the owners are misleading by indicating an incorrect address and cancel the reservation in advance, but I think that if I I book a Russian hut with a bathhouse on Booking, where I must live, and not scour the sites and look and specify additional addresses. I had to go to the bathhouse at night through the whole city, and it was no longer possible to cancel it, because the prepayment was made in cash on the day of arrival, the day before visiting the bathhouse. They do not give receipts, everything is on parole, and then they do not cancel, and do not complain. Boorish and consumer attitude of the owners - book elsewhere. Look at the photo of the accommodation at 71 Vspolye Boulevard - this is not a Russian...
Read moreWe had a great stay here, we were in a junior "suite" which was a very spacious room decorated in traditional Russian country house style and had lovely views of the monastery.||There is a nice garden space joining the houses which would be good for children, and the breakfast was cheap and tasty, served in a nice dining room.||The owner speaks very little English but made a real effort to communicate, and didn't complain or ask for extra money when we checked in a few hours early and checked out a few hours late.||the location is good - 10ish minutes walking distance to the restaurants and sights in the south of suzdal, and near the monastery to the north.||Slight problem finding the place, as you drive up ulitsa lenina (driving north if you arrive from vladimir) you turn left and then right on to ul. Gasteva (the address is no 34). However the road peters out where you reach the monastery. get out your car at the monastery and walk through the front archway next to the gate, walk towards the church and follow it round to the left and straight on accorss the church yard and back out the other side behind the church - the hotel is then on your right with a sign outside - probably only 150m from where you get out the car.||once you have your bearings you will be able to direct a car to take you to and from the outside of the hotel more easily - but walking through the monastery is the easiest...

We managed to communicate anyway! ||||Peaceful, convenient location, good for pretty walks along the lanes and river in Suzdal, 10 minutes from Kremlin, very near to several monasteries. ||||The gardens are pretty but I don't think children could play here without disturbing other guests - luckily there's a football pitch just through the monastery next door which is good for children who need a break from churches!||||We didn't try the breakfast as it seemed rather expensive. Ditto the Russian banya which I had been looking forward to - until I found out it would an extra 2500 rbl (£50) for a couple of hours which seemed incredibly expensive to me.||||Booked through Booking.com and printed their map - found the place no problem using that and checking the cyrillic road sign for Gasteva (the sign is opposite the turning itself) and confirming the house numbers along the lane. If on foot it's easier to go through the monastery, but in a car you'd have to take the second Gasteva turning as the first is a cul de sac when it reaches the monastery.||||As in most places we stayed in Russia, some thicker curtains or blackout blinds would aid sleep...
