The hotel Irkut apparently goes as a two-star-hotel with according prices. For this the overall quality is good. I especially appreciated the central location near the circus with all the main sights and several restaurants in walking distance. ||||Reception was friendly and spoke English. My room was on the third floor, with stairs only to get there. For me this was okay, but it might not be for everybody, especially if one travels with a big suitcase.||||My room was quite comfortable, although with very limited storage space. It had a small table with a free bottle of water, with tea making facilities, plus an empty fridge and even a microwave (not seen elsewhere on my tour).||||The bathroom was very small and the washbasin tiny. A bit on the hard side was the mattress. Because of an early flight, I couldn't try the breakfast, which is not included in the price (and for me a reason to stay here for a short night in the first place). In the evening there was a problem with the WiFi, but according to the reception it had been something affecting the whole area. The hotel also organized me an early transfer to...
Read moreI did not have a chance to stay at this hotel BUT I want to write the review to express my sincere appreciation to Julia , hotel staff , that we met on Feb 13, 2017. She is an angel who goes beyond her duty to help us.||We ( 4 of us) get lost with the tour group in Irkutsk due to miscommunication and feel nervously about our whereabout and the place to stay and just show up in the hotel lobby. Long story short, with the help , warm hospitality of Julia, she offers us the place to rest and get warm and make an effort to locate the land operator in Irkutsk . Finally, we get connect to the land operator . They come to pick us up at the Irkut Hotel.||I feel grateful to meet Julia, She...
Read moreWe stayed three nights here in late June 2019. Well-equipped room, useful staff, good breakfast in the room (but, I prefer buffet), price ok, nice location near the circus and the main street… a little bit noisy, but it was not a problem for us. The city has some beautiful wood houses everywhere (mostly between Karl Marx, Lenina and Timiryazeva streets) and a small regional museum that is worth the visit (Краеведческий музей). It is very easy and cheap (125 rubles one way, we pay to the driver) to visit Listvyanka from Irkutsk by public buses (marshrutka) that stand in front of the main bus station (and stop in the market).
