Undoubtedly my worst hotel experience. Upon arrival at 4.40am, we were told that their booking system is not working properly and that our room was not available. Out of 10 rooms that we booked for the extra night before, we were offered 5 rooms. We were told that all rooms will be ready in 1 hour. After our long flight and having fully paid for the prior night, we had to wait for the hotel to clean the early checkout room. We called the day earlier to reconfirm everything and was told that it's all good. This overbooking policy is totally unacceptable.
We asked to see the general manager and were conveniently told that they cannot contact him. When as to see the supervisor they told that he wasn't at the hotel. In the end we had to wait for guests to checkout until we get the room.
Worst come to worst they did not offer anything other than for us to wait. Not even water. When requested to be reaccommodated they offered to put us in ibis. I can't believe this hotel deserve to use the...
Read moreFrom check in to check out, our experience was first rate! The hotel is well located and within walking distance to shopping and sightseeing, and public transportation is right there. Our room was actually a suite; it was ample, secure, comfortable, and quiet. The staff is wonderful! Everyone was more than friendly and accommodating.
The hotel restaurant was amazing! Our dinner was first rate and the service was exceptional! Our server, Arena, was so dear, so kind, so cheerful, and so helpful. The chef, we understand, is very young and his cooking is masterful.
The business center saved the day for me when I had inadvertently discarded our plane tickets for our return trip to the US. The folks at the front desk provided Internet access for me on a Business Center computer and I was able to access and print our necessary documents at no charge. This was a lifesaver!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining and lodging experience and think...
Read moreThe Courtyard Marriott in Irkutsk is a great place to stay if you find yourself in Siberia. I came here for business and know very little Russian, but the staff here are very friendly and speak very good English so my stay was much easier (I didn't need to shadow my Russian speaking colleagues in case I needed assistance). The food is excellent with a great variety of local dishes to sample. The Internet speeds are pretty good for the free option and you can pay to upgrade. The free speed was enough for me to do my job with minimal slow downs. The rooms are a good size and comfortable. I've since been here 3 times in the past 9 months and every visit has been great. This is a great place to...
