I booked Namma Mawaddah Hotel mainly because of its attractive price. However, after confirming my booking, I came across several negative reviews on Booking.com and Google, which made me reconsider my decision. I decided to visit the hotel first and then decide whether to stay or move elsewhere. To my surprise, upon arrival, the hotel was not as bad as described in the reviews. I chose to stay for one night to evaluate the conditions and eventually, I stayed comfortably for the entire five nights. To clarify, this hotel is ideal for those who primarily spend their time in the Haram and only use the hotel for resting or sleeping. Regarding housekeeping, I initially faced some inconvenience as the staff did not enter my room for cleaning. When I contacted the reception, they explained that housekeeping only cleans rooms when the guest is present. This policy was implemented due to previous complaints about missing items, which I found reasonable once clarified. Many reviews also mentioned issues with the bus service. Keeping that in mind, I planned to use taxis if buses weren’t available, especially around prayer times before and after Fajr, before Dhuhr, and after Isha. However, I only had to take a taxi twice ) once before Jummah prayers and another time when we missed the bus), as the bus service was available most of the time. The bus driver was cheerful, professional, and very kind. There’s also a nearby bus stop, and taxis are easily available outside the hotel. Personally, I used Careem twice to reach the Haram for around 15 SAR, as it saved time and effort compared to negotiating with taxi drivers. Initially, I thought the shower water looked dirty, almost muddy. After closely checking the water in my hands and in a glass, I realized it was actually clean, the tiles color and lighting in the bathroom made it appear discolored. The staff and management were extremely cooperative, respectful, and attentive throughout my stay. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants nearby, so you don’t need to go far for food or daily essentials. Overall, I didn’t find any major issues worth complaining about, especially since I spent most of my time in the Haram and only used the hotel for rest. The only missing item was an iron, but it was promptly provided upon request. In conclusion, Namma Mawaddah Hotel is a good budget-friendly option for travelers who prioritize proximity to the Haram and require a simple, clean place to sleep rather than luxury or...
Read moreOne star – I witnessed a cockroach wedding. Seriously.
During my stay, I discovered multiple cockroaches in my room — and not just crawling around. I literally witnessed what looked like a wedding ceremony between cockroaches. I’m attaching photos and videos as proof.
I reported the issue both verbally and in writing, but the hotel staff (mostly non-Saudi and completely unresponsive) did absolutely nothing. No room change, no cleaning, no apology.
This was a disturbing and unacceptable experience. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I will be forwarding my complaint to the Saudi tourism...
Read moreWe stayed here during our Umrah trip with my family, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The room was full of insects, and we even found bed bugs. After a long journey, we were exhausted and expected a clean and comfortable stay—especially in a holy place where cleanliness should be a priority.
When we reported the issue to the hotel staff, they insisted that the rooms had been cleaned and suggested we were mistaken. This response was frustrating and unhelpful. We truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the hygiene and hospitality for...
