Hello,
It was my first visit to Saudi Arabia, and I was very disappointed. First of all, when I entered the room, the cleanliness of the bathroom and the condition of the wallpaper were not good. The bathroom had a significant amount of limescale, and the light above the mirror was tilted and not level. The wallpaper was torn in several places, making me seriously question if this was the condition of a 5-star hotel room. Nevertheless, since I could still sleep and didn’t want to go through the hassle of changing rooms, I didn’t request a room change.
However, three days later, construction noise suddenly started at 6:30 AM. How can a 5-star hotel conduct construction work at that early hour? It’s very unreasonable and absurd. When I called the front desk, they said it was construction in the adjacent building. However, the noise felt like it was coming from right above me, and I could even feel the vibrations from the building. The front desk staff insisted it wasn’t from their building, which made me angry. After tolerating it for two hours, I called again around 9 AM, and a different staff member answered, saying they would check on the construction. They confirmed that the construction was indeed happening in their own hotel building.
What an outrageous situation this was. Even if I have to go on a business trip to Saudi Arabia again, I will never stay at this hotel. Moreover, the new front desk staff kept saying they would check for me in just 1-2 minutes, but I waited for over 20 minutes, and ultimately, things weren’t resolved in time. Therefore, I had to go out and then come back to check into a new room. Anyone who has to pack and unpack their things during a stay knows how annoying that can be. Given the high accommodation costs, I was extremely...

Read moreExcellent hotel. Big rooms and bathrooms - very comfortable. Only gripe here is there are no streaming channels like BBC, CNN, Netflix, Youtube etc, or wifi connection to your room TV to cast your phone to to watch your own programs.
Decent full buffet breakfast including Middle Eastern dishes. Small pool plus gym and spa centre (with massages). Great, helpful service done politely - especially at reception (Mr Naif+ all the rest) and the restaurant (Mr Sahadat + all the rest) - well-trained staff I must say. However, the food got from room service at night is questionable - what's delivered is not always what's advertised (eg. Pizza Rusticana only had bell peppers on it when it was meant to hlso have mushrooms, corn, onions etc, & Lobster Thermidor was just lobster topped with a little cheese!! Etc etc). This was a little disappointing, especially when you are waiting for some good food after a long day out! It also took a long time to deliver.
Smart, clean, fancy-ish without being gaudy and pretentious. Has a business centre and coffee shop, along with one restaurant (which usually has a buffet dinner on in the evening - as with most 4 or 5 star hotels in the city). Great business hotel. Enjoyed my stay...
