Hotel La Detente Dakar Almadies — Hotel in Dakar

I stayed in Dakar for a conference at the King Fahd Hotel. Before I stayed at another luxurious hotel, which I did not like at all and moved then to the La Dentente. The right decision! I can just recommend this to anybody who does not like to stayat the big hotels..It is small, yes the furnitures are old (this is the same in the big hotels), but the rooms are well equipped. My room was at the basement with a terrace and I had a new TV. And what is important the rooms were very clean. The people were incredible friendly and helpful and I liked very much the small bar, where Fati and her friends are working and gathering their friends in the evening to drink a glass. Stayed here on the front and back ends of a trip in and out of Senegal. The place is pretty basic. The rooms are dark but comfortable, good A/C, wifi seemed to work well even in the basement rooms. Je viens d'écrire au patron de cet hôtel : Monsieur nous n'avons pas pu rester dans votre établissement comme prévu. Dans la chambre 9, La clim marche mal, il fait une chaleur intenable. Fuite d eau dans la chambre près d'une prise détachée du mur, salle de bains boueuse, avec fuites également, 1 store cassé et lumière faiblarde, ventilateur rouillé a l'extrême... bref, chambre à refaire entièrement.||Piscine jaune... bon les enfants s'amusent quand même, mais du coup, les clients ne doivent pas se sécher avec les serviettes de La chambre comme Le suggère votre réceptionniste ! Vous devez en fournir pour la piscine et de bonne grâce. J'ai du relancer votre réceptionniste a plusieurs reprises pour les serviettes de toilette... 5 occupants = 5 serviettes c'est logique, finalement j'en ai eu 4...||Votre réceptionniste du Soir a Bien essayé d'arranger les choses, mais vous me proposez en remplacement 2 chambres de 2 alors que nous sommes 5...||Bref. J'ai payé une nuit pour ne pas embarrasser votre personnel.
