La Villa Keur Bibou — Hotel in Dakar

My family and I (5 of us, 3 kids aged 6-12) stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our travels through Senegal and The Gambia. We couldn't have had a better introduction to "l'esprit teranga" - the spirit of hospitality, that is a proud national characteristic of the Senegalese culture. Michel and his team met our every need promptly, discreetly and often before we even knew the need had arisen! From a perfectly timed impromptu aperetif tray, to a surprise jacuzzi, there was an attention to detail, to our well-being and comfort that went far beyond anywhere else we stayed on our travels and is hard to imagine being equalled elsewhere.

The villa itself is spacious, clean and packed full of works of art, curiosities and a lifetimes worth of exotic collections, but not in any way that makes you feel afraid of touching things. It's warm and inviting, with a working and well stocked kitchen, and beautifully decorated, clean welcoming bedrooms.

The pool area is surrounded by lush gardens and feels like a peaceful oasis. The island itself is a little gem of tranquility, with no vehicles and only a short boat ride but it feels like a world away from the bustle of Dakar. A great place to begin your exploration of Senegal.

With fantastic restaurants and beaches only a short walk away this is a really wonderful place to stay. Michel and his team (may you be lucky enough to meet the fantastic Nat, Mam Cher and Lima) are there if you need them but melt away when you don't so you never feel like you're being waited on and that you have the complete run of the place. In addition to discreet attention throughout our stay we benefited from a taxi waiting for us at the airport to bring us directly to the little beach where there is a private boat you use free of charge whenever you need to go between the island and the main Dakar peninsula.

Nous ne pouvons que vous recommander chaudement la villa Keur Bibou sur l'île de Ngor ! Cette magnifique maison offre tout le confort et l'intimité nécessaires pour passer des vacances inoubliables. La vue sur l'océan est à couper le souffle, et la piscine est un véritable havre de paix pour se détendre et se rafraîchir.Nous avons eu la chance de séjourner dans cette villa et nous en gardons un souvenir mémorable. La décoration est authentique et l’ambiance y est chaleureuse ,ce qui permet de se sentir tout de suite chez soi. De plus, le personnel sur place est d'une grande gentillesse et est toujours disponible pour répondre à nos besoins. Nous avons été accueillies puis traitées comme de véritables princesses. Nous avons eu un réel coup de cœur pour l'île et ses habitants et séjourner dans un tel environnement y a largement contribué. Bref, si vous cherchez un endroit idéal pour passer des vacances de rêve, la villa Keur Bibou est l'endroit...
