I feel bad giving 3 stars because they technically did nothing wrong. The staff was very friendly and the gym looked excellent (though, we didn't use it). But I would not stay here if you're elderly, disabled, or pregnant.
The bathtub is super high up and it was scary getting out of it for fear of slipping. There's also no door on the bathtub and you have to hold the shower head up -- so one of your hands is always occupied as you stand at a strange angle (to not splash water on the floor). So it always felt very precarious. The tub also faces a full length mirror, so you shower looking directly at yourself.....
The bed also isn't comfortable and it's very low. The pillows are those large square ones that flatten to the volume of a finger and offer zero support. I laid on top of the comforter to provide some softness to the mattress and was still uncomfortable.
The curtains cover the entire window but are super thin. So lights from the street came in and the sun always woke me up early. However, I didn't hear street traffic much, despite the location.
The AC worked well at least.
Breakfast is from 7-9 and only cold breakfast -- so that was disappointing and a surprise.
The elevator stopped working when we went to checkout, so my husband had to carry two suitcases down (since I'm pregnant). Not the hotel's fault, but they share a building with an apartment complex, so who knows how often this happens or takes to be fixed.
This hotel clearly started as a gym and then they purchased 4 apartments upstairs and remodeled them into 8 hotel rooms in total. So their specialty isn't being a hotelier.
We thought we were getting a deal but we got what we paid for. We wish we'd spent just a tiny bit more for a hotel that was probably better quality and also already in the...
Read moreThis was a one night stay so we just needed somewhere near to the train station. Be aware, this is near a train station but not the main one into town! This meant we used the excellent bolt app for a cheap taxis in an out of the old town and to the racecourse.||The hotel is hidden away and even taxi drivers don’t know where it is.||They find it on their GPS but it is in the middle of a bank of shops so don’t be put off if it doesn’t look like there is a hotel there!||Our welcome was fantastic and we were offered a drink as soon as we arrived and then taken to our room. This was a bit strange as the door opened directly onto the breakfast area and breakfast started at 6:30!||The room itself was very comfortable though and we had a good night sleep. It is next to a dual carriageway though so you will get some noise from traffic. It had air-conditioning and the room was bright which meant it was fairly light in the morning as well.||Wi-Fi is free for unlimited devices and was good quality. The bathroom was big and very comfortable and the same applied to the room.||Breakfast, which was obviously very short commute for us, was buffet style but very good and had excellent coffee.||The balcony was nice as well even though it overlooked the dual carriageway.||It is worth noting that this hotel is not walking distance into...
Read moreWe were welcomed by a very friendly lady. She offered us a welcoming drink and showed us our room. Indeed, the hotel doesn’t look like a standard hotel. It’s located between different shops. And it’s on the third floor of a normal flat. |We booked the hotel because of the free car parking which we could use before checking in and after checking out. |The hotel is well connected with the city centre. The bus stop is just a 2 min walk from the hotel and it brings you in 5 min to the city centre.|The rooms are comfortable and clean. But there’s some noise from the train station next to the hotel. And the curtains didn’t prevent us from waking up in the morning. Too much light.|The breakfast was a cold buffet and you could take as many coffee and tea as you wanted.|We were happy with room number 2 because room numbers 7 and 8 are located next to the breakfast area. And breakfast...
