Visiting family and from Canada, was gifted a custom exclusive package for 1 night romantic stay with a tour of the castle, wellness spa/massage package, and a custom wine tasting tour of the renowned wine cellar. First off, I'd like to say that the castle itself was amazing and extremely beautiful! Our family who provided this experience had raved about this package especially the winery. We started off with a tour of the castle and it's impressive art collection (glass creations) and JAWA motorcycle collection. It was very enjoyable and from that we ate at the Castle Cap restaurant and were treated with amazing delicious daily specials and food! The staff were doting, caring and amazing! We loved that meal and experience. We then went to check into our room and found out that check out was actually at 10am not at 11am as on the website. The staff at that time were kind of lethargic with the typical Slovak rude apathy and care (ie: the lack of care, although that is starting to change around Slovakia thank god). We were not left with a good taste as they could not fit in our massages during our stay. We will have to return on another day (staying near Bratislava, so we shall see). Upon entry into our room we were told to expect a surprise to which we were amazed at the beautiful and clean room. However, we later learned that there was supposed to be a bottle of wine chilled and waiting for us, which there wasn't. We then rushed to fit in our wine tasting tour experience as apparently the last one was at 1700pm. Upon arrival there we had high expectations as during the tour we saw the depths of the cellar and the numerous artifacts therein. There was only 1 staff member present and who spoke English (my wife is Slovak so we would be ok in the local language). Basically we expected a tour, a little banter from the sommelier, a platter of pairings, and amazing wine from this touted vinoteka! Instead, we were rapidly walked about 10 meters over to a chilling machine with buttons to dispense wine. There was a chalkboard saying each tasting is one euro. He gave us a stilted and quick explanation and pushed buttons for 3 white and 1 red. In between we were left standing at the machine by ourselves awkwardly. We are not wine snobs by any standard, but have attended numerous wine tours in our home Niagra region, Quebec vineyards, eastern USA wineries, and some of the amazing California wine regions. Moreover, we have had world class wine experiences at KORBAS winery in Bernolakovo, ELESKO vineyards, MRVA & STANKO vineyards, and MATYSAK vineyards. Each of those places at the very minimum provided a spitoon for the wine, water to cleanse the palate, and either a fresh glass or wash of glass between wines and at the very least between the white wines and the reds. This winery did not do any of that and it was very deflating and we were unable to fully appreciate and absorb the differences in flavours and wines. Since we did not know exactly what we were gifted with, we just optimistically accepted this $8 euro equivalent (8 wine tasting button presses) as the standard and even bought 2 bottles of what we hope were our favourites despite the experience. We had dinner once again at the Castle Cap and enjoyed that experience again. Delightfully we found ourselves "trapped" in the restaurant and across from the hotel entrance and had to remain there to watch the legendary Peter Nagy concert! What a show! We then spent a very good night in the beautiful room and this time found out that our family had complained to the front desk about our room and they tried to make up for it with a bottle of strawberry frizzante and brut. In the morning, it was a completely difference experience as the breakfast was amazing with really competent, caring staff as well as good front desk personnel. Basically, our stay was not indicative of the package paid for and some of the service awful especially compared to what we expect from this hotel and as a foreigner traveling beautiful Slovakia.massage...

We spent a relaxing long weekend between Christmas and New Year here, and it was the perfect hideaway! The beautiful premises, blending the charm of a castle with modern touches, created a calm and inviting atmosphere. Our spacious, elegant room was fully equipped and spotlessly clean. One of my favorite features were the stunning big windows, which allowed us to fully enjoy the picturesque park scenery from the comfort of indoors.

Breakfast in the Palfy Restaurant was delightful. Sipping local fizzy wine while enjoying the serene park view made our mornings feel extra special. The castle park itself, though small, is charming and ideal for short walks. This peaceful retreat is even more appreciated after a hearty dinner in the Castle Tavern. I loved cottage cheese dumplings with plum sauce. But we also tried the tartare with toast, fried cheese, and steak. Everything was top-notch! And wine. Try their wine. It is must do!

The spa is not big but it was a true highlight, featuring a large jacuzzi, steam and finnish saunas, and a peaceful relaxation area. And the massage? Oh yes, absolutely divine—if you have the chance, don’t miss it. Pure heaven!

Overall, Palace Art Hotel Šimak is a wonderful destination for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in a truly unique setting. Highly...

We recently organized our Datalogic Eastern Europe Partner Meeting at Palace Art Hotel and I must say, the experience was truly exceptional. The hotel team demonstrated outstanding professionalism, flexibility, and attention to detail throughout the entire event.

The venue itself is beautiful, offering a perfect blend of elegance and functionality, ideal for hosting both business meetings and social gatherings. The hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure the success of our event — not only was every detail perfectly managed, but when a last-minute change required us to move one of the key presentations to the restaurant area, they handled it seamlessly and efficiently, creating an excellent setup in record time without any disruption.

The catering was excellent, the meeting rooms were well-equipped, and the support from the staff was outstanding. Both our partners and sponsors were highly impressed by the hospitality and the atmosphere.

I highly recommend Palace Art Hotel for any professional event or corporate gathering. We are truly grateful for their partnership and look forward to future opportunities to work together.

Thank you once again for making our event...
