AMS Beagle — Hotel in Gorje

We arrived at the hotel and were offered a drink and then our rooms were explained to us as well as tips/ideas for our stay. This was really helpful- for example, we did not know that you had to buy tickets for Vintgar Gorge online (you can’t buy them there).||The rooms (we had an apartment for my parents and family room for my husband, I and young son) were so lovely. Everything you could want. The family room was the best family room we have stayed in- whoever designed it really knows what a family would want. The kids bedroom through the main bedroom so far away from main door. Bathroom with bath and toilet then separate toilet and shower. Kids room had a cool chair and colouring which our little boy loved! The views from the windows breathtaking!||Breakfast was really good too- lots of variety- meats, cheese, pastries, loads of fruit, eggs, bread, yogurts. The one thing I would say is that breakfast wasn’t replenished so get there for when it starts at 7:30. We found this was the same in another hotel in Slovenia- they put all the food out at the beginning of the breakfast time slot, so may be how things are done in Slovenia (in England, buffet breakfasts are regularly topped up).||Location, although not in Bled it is only a short drive and it is actually prettier as you feel like you are in the middle of the mountains/countryside. It’s also only a short walk to Vintgar Gorge. This meant we could get there early (we booked 8:40-9 slot). It was nice and quiet at this time. When we were leaving about 11:30- the queue to go in was massive so I recommend getting there earlier if you want to enjoy the scenery without lots of people!||We would 100% recommend this hotel- it truly is unique and special. As a family it was perfect for us, but even as a couple or solo traveller this hotel has everything you could wish for.||Oh and I forgot the complimentary chocolate and fruit bowl in our room and the jacuzzi baths. I have nothing but great things to say. As soon as me and my girlfriend arrived at the hotel, we knew we won the lottery with this one. The outside of the hotel already looked amazing and we didn't even set a foot inside yet. But it just kept getting better.||As we went inside we both were very warmly greeted by the receptionist and the "process" of acquiring the room started immediately. Time flew past and we had ourselves a king suite with a massage tub and an extraordinary room. Everything very clean (especially very important during COVID) and a lot of welcoming gifts. We spent the evening in the massage tub relaxing ourselves before we went to sleep. The night was very peaceful. Here I might add a little detail that I would have wanted it to be otherwise, but definitely not a deal-breaker. The king-size bed had two mattresses instead of one big one, which meant there was a small slit in the middle.||In the morning we were welcomed by a huge breakfast. We had so many choices and tried to eat as much as possible. Check out was at 11 o'clock so there was no rush. We packed our things slowly, enjoyed the last hour/minutes of our room and left with a beautiful memory of this hotel and place in general. We had a beautiful stay at this fantastic ECO Lodge nestled in the hills above Lake Bled just a 10 minute walk from Vintgar Gorge. Actually we didn’t know about the location so much before we booked so it was a pleasant surprise to skip all the parking & shuttle bus stress so we could arrive at Vintgar very early and escape the queues. It is 3Km to the lake but we were happy to be away from majority of tourism out in the countryside. ||The lodge is lovely and the temperature control system really works so don’t worry about air conditioning. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with jacuzzi baths & showers. ||What really made our trip though are the wonderful team though. Nina is an excellent host and was already messaging me before our stay to give advice and arrange restaurant bookings and trip ideas. We basically had a full 3 day itinerary all planned at check in. Sara is just as lovely and prepares a sumptuous breakfast every morning, making sure to accommodate us early on our Vintgar morning. Both work with the team and deal with any issues quickly & professionally.||We took Nina’s advice and visited Triglav Vogel & Lake Bohinj which we massively recommend once you have seen Bled for a very different experience away from the crowds and more in nature.
